Katin Lessing Ready to Race Supercross
in Arlington, Texas!
Eastvale, CA – Katin Lessing a local Eastvale, California resident was invited to compete in the KTM Junior Supercross in Arlington, Texas. Katin Lessing, a third grade student at Rondo Elementary School, will race on March 20, 2021 at the world famous AT&T Stadium – home of the Dallas Cowboys.
KTM North America, Inc., located in Murrieta, California provides an amazing experience for youth racers to compete in the KTM Junior Supercross Program, the popular intermission show of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship. In order to qualify for the KTM Junior Supercross, racers must have at least one year of racing experience, excel in school, and meet specific height and weight requirements.
The KTM Junior Supercross is an exciting intermission program where 15 selected youth riders race aboard the new electric KTM SX-E5 motorcycles at select Monster Energy AMA Supercross events throughout the nation. Throughout the day, riders get to go on a track walk, participate in two practice sessions, sign autographs for their fans, be introduced during opening ceremonies and race a three-lap exhibition race during the Supercross night program.
In its twenty second year in existence, the KTM Junior Racing Program has showcased the talents of boys and girls in stadium racing venues worldwide, racing on the very same tracks as their Supercross heroes. While KTM Junior Racing highlights these talented young riders from around the country and around the world, it also promotes riding and racing motorcycles as a family activity – exciting and accessible – especially for kids!
“This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are excited to watch Katin race and represent Southern California!” said Nic Garvin, Offroad Racing Professional and Racing Coach.
Katin started racing at age four. Over the past few years, Katin has raced competitively in American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) sanctioned events throughout the West Coast including the AMA National Hare and Hound Series, AMA West Hare Scramble Series, AMA National Grand Prix Championship Series, and local District 37 racing events. While motorcycle racing is still predominately a male sport, Katin has gained the respect of her fellow racers as a strong competitor and is excited to see more girls interested and competing in the sport. Katin would like to be a professional racer when she grows up and is thankful for professional women racers like Kacy Martinez Coy, Kelly Yancey, Kaitlyn Jacobs and young rising stars, Mikayla Nielsen and Laci Olivas. With the support of her friends, family, sponsors, and Coach Nic Garvin, Katin is ready to take on Supercross in Texas! The event will be broadcast for viewing on Peacock and NBC.
