Dunlop Domination at 40th Annual Loretta Lynn's

Rancho Cucamonga, CA: Dunlop riders at this year’s 40th running of the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s won 32 out of a possible 36 titles. That continues to give Dunlop a win record at Loretta’s nobody can touch: In the past eight years, Dunlop riders have won an incredible 94% of the possible championships at Loretta’s—including winning every title two years in a row.
This year, the weather was seasonably cool, but that didn’t match up to the heat that was generated on the track! Unlike years past where a handful of riders swept all six of their motos, not one rider was able to be consistent enough to do so this year. This made the racing that much more exciting and created battles in the mid pack on the last motos to determine the class champions.
Team Dunlop Elite riders took home four championships and Team Dunlop Elite alumni took home two, bringing the Team D championship total to six titles this year. Among the Team Dunlop Elite riders, Drew Adams stood out taking home two titles, with Haiden Deegan and Kyleigh Stallings each grabbing titles for the team. In addition, Team Dunlop Elite alumni riders Caden Braswell and Nicholas Romano each added two more titles to the Team D overall count.
Dunlop riders won all four of the specialty awards which are presented to riders with outstanding performances during the six-day event. Team Dunlop riders Drew Adams received the AMA Motocross Youth Rider of The Year Award, and Nick Romano was awarded the AMA Motocross Amateur Rider of The Year Award. Dunlop-mounted, Broc Peterson won the Vet Rider of the Year while Levi Kitchen earned the coveted AMA Nicky Hayden Horizon Award in his last amateur race before turning pro, winning both Open and 250 Pro Sport classes.
“The 40th annual Loretta Lynn’s was one for the record books! It was a fantastic week with amazing weather and awesome racing,” said Rob Fox, Dunlop Amateur Motocross Support Manager. “The track became rough with a hard base but the versatility of the MX33 made it the tire of choice, and we want to thank all the riders for choosing Dunlop.”
