Buell Super Cruiser at Daytona

Buell's® Daytona Bike Week Lineup will Showcase New Super Cruiser

Grand Rapids, MI, February 28, 2023 – Buell Motorcycles and Roland Sands Design have announced the first public preview of the 2025 Buell Super Cruiser. Making its East Coast debut at Daytona Bike Week, Friday, March 3 - Sunday, March 12, 2023, the Super Cruiser will star in Buell's lineup along Destination Daytona's main drag, showing off their high-performance, American-made superbikes and touting their latest updates.

The Super Cruiser, first revealed at a private event on February 10 at the Roland Sands Design facility in Long Beach, CA, has been well-received by both the media and fans. As eager riders continue to place unprecedented preorders on the Buell website, the Super Cruiser is exceeding expectations and generating significant buzz.

"It's the design of this bike that's got everyone going crazy," said Buell's CEO, Bill Melvin. "The response we've seen so far is overwhelming. It's clear there's a tremendous demand for a high- performance cruiser, and we're thrilled to meet it. We always knew a Buell cruiser would be big, but it needed Buell features and had to be the highest-performing American production bike ever made. Lucky for us, we were the ones who innovated the kick-ass technology of the 1190 platform. So, we didn't need to reinvent the wheel. We just needed to take what was already ideal and build a cruiser around it. Refining things like steering angle, rake, wheels, tires, brakes, and chassis – Roland Sands was the genius to pull all that together."

Of course, Buell's Daytona lineup would be incomplete without its flagship bikes, the Hammerhead and 1190 SX, featuring small but important improvements since last year. Notable changes include carbon bodywork, tires and throttle-body balancing refinement.

Also on display will be the latest refinements to Buell's 1190 SuperTouring® modular superbike, slated for 2025 production. "The ST provided a great opportunity for us to hear and engage with our fanbase," said Jacob Stark, Buell’s Engineering Specialist. "It led to exploring new ideas, experimenting, and using the ST platform to stretch our comfort zone."

Created in collaboration with award-winning designer J. Ruiter to thrill supersport fans and tourers alike, the SuperTouring is the world's fastest adaptive motorcycle, easily converting to a track bike in under an hour. Its latest modifications include a new modular front faring with headlamp assembly, higher handlebars, foot-forward controls, and a new seat and bags.

"We can’t wait for Bike Week 2023. Buell is back and building a strong reputation as a small, responsive company building bikes to order and providing a unique customer experience," said Melvin. " We've tuned our approach to match customer feedback and will continue making the changes that deliver the best riding experience possible."

VOLCON COLLABORATION WITH BFGOODRICH

VOLCON ANNOUNCES COLLABORATION WITH BFGOODRICH IN OFF-ROAD RACING PROGRAM

Volcon to be the first UTV brand to co-develop directly with BFGoodrich on a new EV tire and other EV technologies

AUSTIN, TX February 28, 2023 | Volcon Inc. (NASDAQ: VLCN), the first all-electric, off-road powersports company, announced today a collaboration with BFGoodrich® Tires (“BFGoodrich”) for Volcon’s off-road racing program. Volcon and BFGoodrich will showcase their racing vehicle at the BFGoodrich sponsored Mint 400 on March 8, 2023, and through the weekend. As a leader in electric powersports, Volcon is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with electric vehicles, and off-road racing presents a unique opportunity to showcase the power and durability of EV technology in a challenging environment

As part of the collaboration, Volcon has been working with BFGoodrich to integrate their ActivAir suspension technology in the Volcon race vehicle. The two teams will work together to leverage the power of the EV motor in tandem with BFGoodrich’s ActivAir, the Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) that makes real-time adjustments that aim to enhance the off-road performance and increase the battery range of Volcon’s future UTV products. The validation of this technology through rigorous testing will see the eventual integration of the ActivAir system into Volcon’s Stag UTV - the first of its kind in North America for an electric utility vehicle. Volcon believes that by implementing the ActivAir system in their race vehicle, subsequent testing will be conducted under the harshest of conditions, ensuring future commercial versions will be robust, reliable, and purpose built for the off-road enthusiast and weekend warrior alike.

"We're thrilled to be taking on this exciting new challenge," said Jordan Davis, CEO of Volcon ePowersports. "Off-road racing is a demanding sport that requires not only speed and agility, but also toughness and durability. We believe that our electric vehicles are more than up to the task, and we can't wait to prove it on track. It also serves as the perfect test bench for our vehicles and partner technologies to be pushed in the most challenging environments, so we know we’ve done due diligence before customers take delivery.” The announcement comes as one of the first initiatives of the Volcon Technology Innovation Group (VTIG). VTIG is a division of Volcon that explores advanced technologies to improve and evolve current, and future Volcon products, and will be the first UTV brand to co-develop directly with BFGoodrich on new EV tire and other technologies.

“As the market evolves towards electric vehicles, BFGoodrich is excited to work with companies that embody the adventure spirit,” says Harold Phillips, Global General Manager for BFGoodrich Tires. “Collaborating with Volcon will allow us to innovate in an exciting direction and help lead the industry into the future of off-roading.”

The BFGoodrich ActivAir system technology allows for adjustment in tire pressure based on the environments the vehicle is driving in.

“One of the key benefits of the BFGoodrich ActivAir system is the ability to monitor the energy consumption of the battery in real time,” Volcon co-founder and CTO, Christian Okonsky commented. “Something like off-road racing creates the perfect grounds for testing BFGoodrich’s ActivAir system considering these situations have a constant scenario of driving at various speeds, in changing environments; especially when you pre-run a course and can anticipate terrain changes, like a lake bed, or elevation. With this dynamic technology able to be programmed to adjust based on upcoming terrain and conditions, imagine the enormous value drivers will have for conserving battery and range based on the amount of travel they want to do.”

Outside of showcasing the capabilities of its electric vehicles, Volcon is committed to promoting the use of sustainable energy in the world of powersports. "We believe that electric vehicles have a future in powersports, and we're excited to be at the forefront of this movement. Not only that, but the environments where these races take place are delicate ones and any way we can minimize the unpleasant externalities of gas, we will," said Okonsky.

The Company has plans for additional race program announcements and to unveil the vehicle and commercial partners in mid-2023. The vehicle will be displayed during the The Mint 400 Vehicle Parade on Wednesday, March 8, on the Las Vegas Strip at 4 p.m., then at the Off-Road Festival on Thursday, March 9, at the BFGoodrich activation area on Fremont St. in Las Vegas, with everyone encouraged to come by the booth to say hello and check it out.

About Volcon ePowersports

Based in the Austin, Texas area, Volcon was founded as the first all-electric powersports company producing high-quality and sustainable electric vehicles for the outdoor community. Volcon electric vehicles are the future of off-roading, not only because of their environmental benefits, but also because of their near silent operation, which allows for a more immersive outdoor experience.

Volcon's 2023 vehicle roadmap includes both motorcycles and UTVs hitting the market in North America. Its first product, the innovative Grunt, has been shipping to customers since late 2021 and combines a fat-tired physique with high-torque electric power and a near-silent drive train. The Runt, which is a fun-sized version of the groundbreaking Grunt, is better suited for small statured riders, more compact properties and trails, or as a pit bike at race events, while still delivering robust off-road capabilities. The Brat is Volcon’s first foray into the wildly popular eBike market for both on road and off-road riding and is currently being delivered to dealers across North America. Volcon is also launching and currently delivering the Volcon youth line of dirt bikes for younger riders between the ages of 4 to 11. Volcon recently launched the Stag and entered the rapidly expanding UTV market with a major announcement that all Volcon four wheeled vehicles will be powered by General Motors’ proven and tested electric propulsion systems, starting with the Stag. The Stag empowers the driver to explore the outdoors in a new and unique way that gas-powered UTVs cannot. The Stag offers the same thrilling performance of a standard UTV without the noise (or pollution), allowing the driver to explore the outdoors with all their senses.

The Brat is not your typical e-Bike, it goes wherever you want to go. From off-road adventures, to slipping through busy traffic, or traversing the city, the Brat will get you there.

Distinctive Design

Built like a motorcycle, the Brat leaves typical e-Bikes in the dust with its truly unique design. Developed with the iconic Volcon exo-arch frame that utilizes the same design language as Volcon’s Grunt and Stag, the Brat really stands out from the crowd. Zip around the city, or cruise along trails and discover new spots; the Brat is designed for commuters and explorers.

The Black and Blue Brats have a slight difference in handlebar height. The Blue Brat handlebars are 1.17 inches taller and more swept back than the Black Brat handlebars. The Blue Brat handlebars allow for a more relaxed and traditional riding position, while the Black Brat offers a more sporty riding experience. The handlebars are interchangeable.

Connected Experience

Onboard Display

Volcon is redefining the connected experience by providing a level of information and convenience not found on other e-bikes. The Brat’s dynamic display provides the rider with battery percentage, a speedometer, max speed, average speed, trip distance, and an odometer at a glance.

Mode 3

New Buell Super Cruiser

A Roland Sands Design Collaboration

Grand Rapids, MI, February 10, 2023 – Buell Motorcycle announced this week that a new Super Cruiser designed by Roland Sands of Roland Sands Design, Long Beach, CA, is in development for 2025, bringing two iconic brands together to create a one-of-a-kind motorcycle with a West Coast attitude.

"Building a cruiser was something we always contemplated," said Bill Melvin, CEO of Buell Motorcycle Co. "The market is full of American manufacturers known mostly for big, heavy bikes – not fast, hot ones like the famous V-twins of the 30s. Our Buell Super Cruiser will be the hottest bike on the market. Period."

Roland Sands & Roland Sands Design will bring the heat. Champion motorcycle racer turned custom bike builder, Sands is considered the King of Cool in styling cruisers, café racers, and many top brands' iconic built bikes.

"When Bill first approached us about building a high-performance cruiser using the Buell motor, it was as if the bike designed itself,” said Roland Sands. “Considering the history of Buell and the market’s need for a truly high-performance cruiser, and the build quality of the existing Buell chassis parts, motor, and rolling kit, the project was a natural fit."

The Super Cruiser will take advantage of Buell's unique high-performance V-twin engine and innovative perimeter braking system and structural swingarm, delivering a bike with exceptional handling in a non-sport bike format.

"The design lends itself to the West coast scene where customization is part of bike culture," said Melvin. “And Roland was enthusiastic about incorporating Buell technology into that culture, creating the fastest, coolest cruiser on the market.”

"I've been working on projects like this for 20-plus years, and this is the first time we've been able to build a performance cruiser without the typical V-twin performance compromises of weight and motor width and length," said Sands.

At 450 lbs. and 175 hp, Sands' chassis geometry delivers road-friendly handling that's ready for the track. Using much of the standard Buell rolling kit, Sands engineered his chassis design to work with the swingarm, forks, original 17" wheels, and brake system. "Ground clearance, bar position, and comfortable seating and foot positions are key to getting the cruiser look with sport bike handling," said Sands.

The Super Cruiser solidifies that Buell is Back and building more than sport bikes. Out of the gate, this cruiser will lead performance in the category. It's light, nimble, and high torque, incorporating all the main points that connect the rider to the ground, and it’s cracking open another part of the market – a younger crowd craving speed and performance in a cruiser.

Buell previewed the Super Cruiser's proof of concept at a Private VIP Reveal Party at Roland Sands Design shop in Long Beach, CA on February 10.

About its potential, Sands is confident. "With correct geometry and an attitude to match? Yeah, that's the business right there," he said

Buell Motorcycles is an American manufacturer and marketer of high-performance V-Twin motorcycles. Known for their fuel-in-frame and perimeter brake designs, Buell delivers an incredible ride and excitement at every turn. For future updates, follow us on social or visit our website News.

Hawkins to Make SX Debut

ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING DRAFT IN HAWKINS FOR 250SX EAST OPENER

FC 250 RIDER CONFIRMED FOR DEBUT IN HOUSTON THIS SATURDAY

Emerging teenager Talon Hawkins will make his professional AMA Supercross debut when 250SX East commences this weekend in Houston, filling in for the injured Jalek Swoll at Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing.

The 19-year-old has been part of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna amateur program since late 2019, making his Pro Motocross debut last season and making a total of three appearances outdoors. His best results came at the Fox Raceway finals, going 18-14 for 17th overall.

Most recently, the FC 250-mounted Hawkins lined up in the Supercross Futures at Anaheim 2 last weekend, leading his share of laps in the main event and finishing an impressive third position. That experience will be vital leading into his 250SX East debut.

Nathan Ramsey, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager: "We are very happy to give Talon this opportunity and he has been working very hard, squeezing in as much SX riding as possible to be ready if he got the call to be moved to the pro team to fill in. Talon is always ready and willing to do anything we ask, so we are excited to see him get out there with the big boys and mix it up. This will be a steep learning curve, but we believe that he's up for the task."

With team regular Swoll undergoing arm surgery after a practice crash last week, Hawkins now has the opportunity to test his abilities in the 250SX Eastern Regional Championship ranks when the gates drop this Saturday, February 4, at NRG Stadium in Texas.
