REV'IT! American Flat Track And MotoAmerica Racing Plans

REV'IT! is supporting four riders in two disciplines for 2022 season

DENVER, COLO. (March 31, 2022) — REV’IT! is approaching this year's Progressive American Flat Track and Auto Parts 4 Less MotoAmerica championships with a renewed focus on riders competing in professional motorcycle racing at the national level. Both series kicked off in March, with the Volusia Half-Mile at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida, and the 80th running of the Daytona 200 at nearby Daytona International Speedway.

REV’IT! is supporting Johnny Lewis in AFT Mission Production Twins, Danilo Petrucci and PJ Jacobsen in Medallia MotoAmerica Superbike, and Gene Buonomo in MotoAmerica Stock 1000. All four riders are contesting their respective disciplines and classes in Tech-Air-compatible REV’IT! one-piece leather racing suits, with the addition of a combination of in-house-developed, CE-certified SEEFLEX, SEESOFT, and SEESMART protection.

Lewis, Petrucci, and Jacobsen are outfitted in custom-tailored REV’IT! suits. Buonomo is wearing the production-ready Scorpio, a direct descendant of the suit that Petrucci wore to MotoGP race wins in Italy and France. Petrucci, Jacobsen, and Buonomo will don the top-of-the-line Jerez 3 gloves; depending on the type of venue — half-mile, mile, short track, or TT — Lewis will use either the Jerez 3 or the short-gauntlet Metric gloves.

  • Pennsylvania-born Johnny Lewis has led the Royal Enfield charge in American Flat Track. Not only has Lewis helped develop the air-cooled, 648cc-based twin-cylinder motorcycle — this year running under the Moto Anatomy Powered by Royal Enfield banner — but he also has won two main events in the AFT Mission Production Twins class, most recently the 2021 Lima Half-Mile. When he is not racing, the 32-year-old father of two teaches the Florida riding school he founded, Moto Anatomy.

  • In January, Danilo Petrucci traded his knee sliders for a roadbook. After a decade in MotoGP, where he earned 10 podiums, including two wins, the 31-year-old Italian wowed Dakar Rally competitors and fans alike with a stunning victory in the fifth stage of the grueling off-road endurance event. Now, Petrucci will focus on the Medallia MotoAmerica Superbike class with Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New York. He is campaigning a Ducati Panigale V4 R in the 10-round championship.

  • PJ Jacobsen also is racing in MotoAmerica’s premier class, albeit with a different team, the new Tytlers Cycle Racing, on a BMW M 1000 RR. The 28-year-old New Yorker has raced at the highest level in production-bike competition and finished second overall in the 2015 FIM Supersport World Championship. Returning to the U.S., Jacobsen contested a limited 2019 schedule in AFT Twins before moving to MotoAmerica Stock 1000, winning the opening round of the 2020 series.

  • Three-time American Sportbike Racing Association GTU Team Challenge Champion Gene Buonomo will race a Generosa Motorsports Kawasaki ZX-10R in Stock 1000, pitting him against many of the best riders in the nation. In March, the 47-year-old New Jersey resident attempted to qualify for the Daytona 200, which for the first time in the history of the series launched the MotoAmerica season. Unfortunately, Buonomo’s Yamaha YZF-R6 suffered a mechanical failure, and he missed the race.

100% INTRODUCES THE SP22 GOGGLE COLLECTION

The Spring 2022 Collection features new designs for Armega, Racecraft2, and Accuri2.

Daytona is looking to be beyond exciting for the Roland Sands Design x Indian Motorcycle race team. This season RSD will be fielding not one, but two Indian Challengers in Moto America’s 2022 King of the Baggers doubleheader, as well as two Indian FTR1200s and one Indian Chief, in the 2022 Roland Sands Design Super Hooligan National Championship doubleheader on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway. That’s 5 bikes in 10 races over two days. If it sounds like we're crazy... we are starting to believe it too.

We are excited to introduce our partnership with the Sacramento Mile x SDI Racing with a new, S&S-built Indian Challenger entry, race-prepped by Roland Sands Design. The #50 Indian Challenger will be ridden by Superbike competitor Bobby Fong. Bobby is a dominator in road racing with his 2019 Moto America Supersport Championship earned with six wins and fourteen 2nd place finishes on the season.  He has proven that he knows his way around Daytona by qualifying on pole and a podium finish at the 2019 Daytona 200. He got a taste of riding the bagger in the preseason and has his sights set on the top of the King of the Bagger podium.

The #14 Indian Challenger is a Mission Foods sponsored RSD-built King of the Baggers entry, being ridden by the always popular KOTB podium finisher Frankie Garcia. The bike has gone through several changes over the off-season and, Indian along with S&S Cycle has supplied a new motor to help propel the Challenger into Daytona legend status.

RSD has two new 2022 Indian FTR1200 R Carbon model purpose-built asphalt-ready racers for the Super Hooligan class. After last year's dip in the road racing pool at Laguna Seca, we started from scratch this year with two new FTRs fully prepped for road race duty with motor work by the crew at Lloydz Garage and Indian Motorcycle of Charlotte. KOTB race winner and top man Tyler O’Hara is slated to ride the #2 Indian FTR 1200 with fellow bagger racer and fast guy Frankie Garcia will be on the #14 Indian FTR1200. Both riders will be doing double duty by racing both the King of the Baggers class and Super Hooligan class. You can guarantee they will be pushing hard to be at the top of both the KOTB and SHNC podiums.

The #33 Super Hooligan 2022 Indian Chief is being ridden by Australian top gun and 2019 Pikes Peak winner Rennie Scaysbrook, who will be battling for the Mission Foods Air-cooled American Twin Challenge title. A race within the Super Hooligan race will see both air-cooled Indians and Harleys battling bar to bar for the Mission Challenge bragging rights and a special purse. Rennie’s got history on the Indian Chief taking a win during its first competition in the Big Twin class at the inaugural BRL race last season. He’s looking to lock in another win at Daytona and solidify his dominance as the only air-cooled Indian racing in the class.

A huge thanks to all of our series sponsors who are helping make this year possible: Indian Motorcycle, GEICO, MOTUL, SDI Racing, Mission Foods, Dunlop, Bell Helmets

Founded in Sydney, Australia in 2012, the ‘dress dapper’ themed ride aims to combat the often-negative stereotype of motorcyclists and connect the global motorcycling community by raising funds for a cause important to every rider.

Since its first year, the DGR’s global community has raised over $31m USD for its charity partner, Movember, and now operates in over 900 cities and 114 countries around the world.

This year’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will take place on Sunday, May 22nd  with pre-registration already open to riders across the world, and official registration and fundraising starting on March 28th.

Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard

The Gibson Les Paul is practically synonymous with rock and roll, becoming the go-to axe for countless guitar heroes including Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, and Guns N’ Roses’ Slash. It’s as versatile an instrument as it is iconic, and in the right hands can wring thunderous riffs, molten solos and warm, clean tones from it in equal measure.

Known as the Holy Grail of Guitars, the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard represents the pinnacle of electric guitar innovation during Gibson’s enduring golden age. The Gibson Les Paul Standards from 1958 to 1960 are among the most collectible vintage guitars in the world, with the Gibson 1959 model as the most highly coveted of all. No specific Gibson guitar carries more intrigue and gravitas than the 1959 Les Paul Standard. Rare and highly-collectible, it has become the most iconic guitar in history, (under 650 were made), and before long, it was adopted by some of the world's greatest guitarists--Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Duane Allman, Mike Bloomfield, Billy Gibbons, Joe Perry, Slash, Joe Bonamassa, Rick Nielsen and Jason Isbell, to name a few.

“It's just a beautiful guitar and a fantastic instrument, and obviously it was adopted by dozens of hugely influential players,” says Mat Koehler, Senior Director of Product Development, Gibson Brands. “Guitar gods all favored this model. So, when you put that all together, it's no wonder why the values are large fractions of a million dollars for originals.”

Bell announces RSD’s first MX-9 graphic

BELL RELEASES MX-9 MIPS RALLY COLLAB HELMET WITH ROLAND SANDS DESIGN

Scotts Valley, CA (March 15, 2022) – Bell is proud to announce the Roland Sands Design (RSD) MX-9 MIPS Rally, an all-new race-inspired graphic collaboration between Bell and former racer, renowned bike builder and designer Roland Sands.

The MX-9 MIPS Rally graphic honors throwback racing liveries and paint schemes with its bold, color-blocked design and checkered flag cues. Featuring branding from Dunlop, K&N and Motul — all longtime partners of both Sands and his race series, the Super Hooligan National Championship — the helmet graphic lives up to Bell’s and Sands’ racing legacies.

“Roland Sands is a longtime partner of the Bell brand, and this is another graphic in a long line of collaborations,” said SJ Owen, marketing director at Bell Helmets. “Bell was born from racing, and to work with Sands and other storied brands like Dunlop, K&N and Motul, who also share that heritage, has been a fantastic opportunity. We are excited to see the reaction from motorcyclists and look forward to releasing other graphics with RSD later this year.”

The RSD MX-9 MIPS Rally helmet features a polycarbonate shell; the Mips® energy management system; an adjustable visor; Velocity Flow ventilation; and a removable, washable, antimicrobial liner for hosing down after a long ride. Three shell sizes and multiple cheek pads and liners allow for riders to customize fitment easily. Whether you’re at the motocross track or hitting the streets on a tracker, the RSD MX-9 MIPS Rally stands out from the rest.

“I’ve been wearing Bell helmets since my racing days,” said Roland Sands, owner of RSD. “Over the past 10 years, Bell and I have created 30-plus graphics across its line of street helmets, and this is our first take on a MX-9 moto helmet. I’m fortunate to work with partners like Bell, Dunlop, K&N and Motul, who have been longtime supporters of RSD. Stay tuned, as we have more exciting projects coming down the line later this year.”

Available at retailers soon, the RSD MX-9 MIPS Rally comes in XS through XXXL sizes, with different thickness cheek pads and liners to dial in fitment sold separately. The RSD MX-9 MIPS Rally will be available at BellHelmets.com, RolandSands.com and Bell Helmet dealers for $194.95.
