The Rocket 3 R Black, the ultimate muscle roadster, takes on a dark and moody style with a distinctive matt and gloss all-black paint scheme, with black tank badges and new ‘black’ branding. Dedicated blacked out details and finishes
Both of the new limited edition Rocket 3 R and GT have been enhanced by a unique beautiful range of blacked out components that add an even more aggressive and
dominant style, with a beautiful carbon-fibre front mudguard fitted as standard.

Their world leading 2,500cc engine comes fully blacked out, with unique black painted exhaust headers, heat shields and end caps. A dedicated crinkle black powder coated intake cover finishes off the blacked out engine style, and provides the new, limited edition Rockets with a meaner look and attitude.

The list of blacked-out components continues across both motorcycles. On the front, the new Rockets are enriched with black painted mudguard mounts, black painted headlight bezels, fly screen finishers, radiator cowls and badging. Contributing to the new darker look and style are black anodised components, including fork lowers, yokes, risers and handlebar clamps, rider footrests, brake and gear pedals, heel guards and pillion footrests and hangers. The list of black anodised components continues with the rear frame forging, RSU rocker, swingarm guard, side stand, brake and clutch levers, and premium black anodised bar-end mirrors with machined detailing fitted as standard (market dependent).

Incredible performance
The new Rocket limited edition line-up’s 2,500cc triple engine delivers incredible performance. In fact, it’s not only the largest production motorcycle engine in the World,
but it also delivers the world’s highest torque at 221Nm. Maximum torque arrives at 4,000rpm and is held constantly through the mid-range, giving unparalleled acceleration
and effortless riding at any gear.

Peak power is 167 PS @ 6,000 rpm and the triple engine is tuned to deliver power
from a low 3,500rpm, up to 7,000rpm.

The Rocket 3 R has recently demonstrated its incredible acceleration by setting a staggering new Triumph production motorcycle record of 0-60 mph in just 2.73 seconds.

The engine of this limited-edition carries the aggressive and dark style with a black painted finish on the iconic, hydroformed three-header exhaust run, which delivers the most magnificent, rich, triple engine roar.

The Rocket 3 R also features a high-performance six-speed helical-cut gearbox and a ’torque assist’ hydraulic clutch.

Phenomenal handling
In regard to handling, both the Rocket 3 R and GT are an absolute revelation, not only in terms of comfort and touring ease, but also in delivering a genuinely dynamic roadster ride, much more akin to a Speed Triple than a traditional cruiser.

Both models feature a lightweight aluminium frame and a very high specification of equipment – on the rear there’s a fully adjustable Showa monoshock RSU with a piggy back reservoir, while up front the upside down Showa 47mm cartridge front forks are adjustable for compression and rebound damping.

The brakes are Brembo’s top specification Stylema road going radial monobloc calipers with twin floating discs. These cutting edge calipers are a lightweight and compact design, with optimised air flow for efficient cooling.

Further highlighting the incredible specification of the Rocket, both models feature a high performance Brembo four piston monobloc caliper and 300mm disc on the rear.

For comfort, the Rocket 3 R and GT come with sculpted rider and pillion saddles, with unique black painted cast aluminium finishers under the seat. Seat height is a low 773mm on the Rocket 3 R, whilst on the GT the seat height is 750mm.

Both also have been designed for maximum seating flexibility, with the option to swop between a twin seat set-up to a single with the accessory infill pad, and to swop to either models set-up with a range of accessory options available. The foot peg position can also be adapted, with adjustable mid-foot controls on the Rocket R, with two vertical position settings to choose from.  The limited edition’s pillion foot pegs can also be hidden thanks to their elegant foldaway design, which comes in a unique black finish.

Class-leading technology
The Rocket 3 comes with Triumph’s optimised cornering ABS and traction control as standard. These are controlled by a sophisticated Inertial Measurement Unit which measures the roll, pitch, yaw and acceleration rates of the bike, in order to calculate the lean angle and optimise braking and traction control accordingly.

The instruments are Triumph’s latest generation full-colour TFTs, which are angle-adjustable and have two information layout themes that can be personalised.

The TFT system has the accessory My Triumph connectivity system software pre-installed, and ready to be activated with an accessory-fit Bluetooth module. This gives the rider GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music operation via the switch cubes, with all information displayed and accessible on the TFT screen.

Both models are equipped with four riding modes - Road, Rain, Sport and Rider-configurable – all of which can be easily changed while on the move via the illuminated switch cubes.  The riding modes adjust the throttle response and traction control settings to suit rider preference and riding conditions.

For low energy consumption, increased durability and greater visibility, the Rocket 3 R has all-LED lighting, including a twin LED headlight, a beautifully-shaped tail light, indicators and the number plate light. (Market restrictions may apply)

Dependent on the market, the headlights also incorporate the signature shaped LED Daytime Running Lights, increasing rider visibility to other road users.

As standard the Rocket comes equipped with hill hold control, cruise control, keyless ignition and keyless steering lock, and a USB charging socket.

A wide range of Triumph Genuine Accessories
As with all Triumphs models, there is a wide range of Genuine Accessories available for the new limited edition Rocket 3s, through which each rider can tailor their bike to suit their preferences.

Among the available genuine accessories, customers can find Triumph Shift Assist, for clutchless up and down gear changes, heated grips (which come as standard on the Rocket 3 GT) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System for enhanced safety and control.

For more touring-oriented needs, a range of luggage is available with an innovative
Triumph patented cast aluminium pannier mounting system, interchangeable seats and handlebars and the Track+ and Protect+ tracking and alarm systems (market restrictions may apply).

Dunlop hires new Motorcycle Test Engineer

Longtime developer Clark Stiles will move to the Lead Test Engineer position.

dunlop-test.png

Ranch Cucamonga, CA: Dunlop Motorcycle Tires welcomes former Supercross & Motocross professional rider Jesse Wentland as their new Motorcycle Test Engineer. Jesse will join the team at the Huntsville Proving Grounds located in North Alabama. After over a decade of testing numerous off -road motorcycle tires, longtime developer Clark Stiles will move to the Lead Test Engineer position. Clark believes Jesse is the best fit to help further develop Dunlop’s off-road motorcycle tires.

“Having Jesse on board will be a huge asset to our team. He is a new breed of rider and brings a lot of current experience and knowledge to the table. When I started racing all motocross bikes were 2 strokes. During my career and as I was beginning to exit my career, everything evolved over to 4 stroke motorcycles. The riding styles have also evolved a ton since I was racing. Having a younger rider like Jesse is great because he has an evolved riding style and a completely different outlook on racing. He knows the new generation riding style and has a lot of experience on current motorcycles. He is also fresh off racing professional Supercross and Motocross. His riding level is still very high, and he is still in racing shape.”- Clark Stiles

Wentland is a long-time motorcycle enthusiast. He began racing motocross at the young age of 6 years old and competed at the highest level of amateur racing throughout his childhood. After years of success in the amateur ranks, Wentland turned professional in 2012 and lived his dream until retiring from competition in 2017. Searching for his next journey in life, Jesse found the perfect landing spot.

“I am very excited about this opportunity to work for Dunlop. I always wanted to leave my mark in the sport but felt like I’d fallen short after retiring at such a young age. I grew tired of the racing lifestyle, the travel, the expense, and of course the injuries. At the time, I was ready for bigger and better things in life. I wanted to buy a house, get married, and start a family. I’d been living a normal life, working a job, and racing locally for fun when this opportunity came up. Once I heard the details and what my role at Dunlop would be, it sounded like the perfect fit for me. Since retiring in 2017 I’d been struggling with feeling like the knowledge and skills I’d gained from racing had gone to waste. This new opportunity will allow me to apply those skills and knowledge every day and help develop the best tires on the market. This is a true blessing in disguise, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity at a time I needed it most.”

- Jesse Wentland

“Jesse officially started his role last month and will focus on the dirt side of development

while his coworker Taylor Knapp focuses on the street side of things.” – Clark Stiles

The Huntsville Proving Grounds is owned by Sumitomo Rubber USA and is a full-service tire testing facility. The Proving Grounds sits on an efficient used 68 acres in which Sumitomo utilizes to evaluate their Dunlop brand motorcycle tires and Falken branded passenger car and light truck tires.

New 2021 Triumph Scramblers: Coming soon

New Scrambler 1200 XC and XE - Full details to be revealed April 13, 2021

New Street Scrambler - Full details to be revealed April 20, 2021

With a peerless bloodline that goes back to the iconic first 1959 Triumph Bonneville, the updated 2021 modern classic Bonneville family encompasses the legendary spectrum of British designed motorcycle icons, from the original Bonneville T120, T120 Black and T100, to the custom inspired Street Twin and limited-edition Street Twin Gold Line edition, the classic Bonneville Speedmaster cruiser and the stunning Bonneville Bobber.

Each one was born from Triumph’s advanced R&D facility in Hinckley, where the dedicated UK design team creates, engineers, and prototypes every motorcycle. Each one is crafted to maintain all of their legendary design DNA and to deliver the truly modern capability that lives up to Triumph’s world-leading reputation for premium quality and ride.

Joining the Thruxton RS, launched last year to international acclaim, the new Bonneville line-up will be enhanced further still in April 2021, with the official reveal of the new generation Scrambler 1200 and Street Scrambler, when full details will be released.

NEW 2021 BONNEVILLE T120 AND T120 BLACK
Timeless. Capable. Beautiful.

The definitive British motorcycle icon takes its torque-rich 1200cc twin performance, sophisticated setup and beautiful Bonneville DNA and significantly upgrades it for 2021, delivering a new benchmark for timeless character and easy riding capability. With a significantly enhanced handling set-up, courtesy of a significant 15.5lb weight savings, new lightweight aluminum wheel rims, and new higher specification Brembo brakes, plus new rider technology, including cruise control and enhanced riding modes and even more responsive throttle, the Bonneville legend continues.

Available in North America starting May 2021 for $12,050 USD

Engine and performance

The engine of the new Bonneville T120 and T120 Black is Triumph’s signature 1200cc, high-torque British twin, which has been developed for an even better riding experience.

For 2021 the new T120’s engine mass has been reduced significantly through the use of a lighter crankshaft. Together with an optimized clutch and balancer shafts this has also reduced inertia, which provides the new generation with a notably more immediate and responsive throttle.

The T120 has been specifically tuned to deliver high torque, from low down in the rev range all the way through the mid-range, giving exhilarating performance throughout.

The 1200 twin engine delivers 77 LB-FT of peak torque at a very low 3500 rpm and its power peaks 79 HP at 6,550 rpm.

With its sensitively designed liquid cooling system, the upgraded 2021 engine produces lower emissions than the previous generation and offers excellent fuel economy.

Both the T120 and T120 black come with a very high service interval of 10,000 miles, helping to keep the ongoing cost of ownership low.

Enhanced Handling

The handling of the new T120 has been enhanced for 2021 with a 15.5lb weight savings. The all-new aluminum wheel rims (18in X 2.75in on the front and 17in X 4.25in on the rear) give a major reduction in unsprung weight and inertia, making the new T120 more agile and maneuverable when riding, and also when you’re moving the bike around at standstill.

The braking system has been improved with a higher specification Brembo front brake, with a twin disc set-up and 2 piston sliding calipers giving excellent stopping power and improved feel. Safety and control have also been maximized thanks to Triumph’s latest generation ABS and switchable traction control.

The combination of weight savings, new wheels, and higher specification brake set-up makes the new T120 the best handling Bonneville T120 ever.

Enhanced Technology

The new T120 comes with higher specification technology compared to its previous version, with cruise control now fitted as standard along with enhanced riding modes.

The cruise control is set via a dedicated button on the handlebar, making it extremely user-friendly for the rider as well as the selection of the riding modes. The rider can select between the Rain and Road riding modes, which will adapt the behavior of the bike according to the riding conditions.

Other high spec rider focused technology that come as standard include a torque-assist clutch, which reduces rider fatigue in heavy traffic or on longer journeys; an engine immobilizer incorporated into the key, a handy under-seat USB charging socket and the internal wiring ready to plug in the accessory fit heated grips.

The headlight incorporates this distinctive LED daytime running light*, (*where market legislation permits), which makes it easier for the bike to seen by other road users.

Enhanced Style

The unmistakable and iconic Bonneville silhouette and style have been further enhanced by a set of touches that blend the T120’s iconic style with Triumph’s latest premium features.

The twin clock set-up has a new premium 3D dial face with Bonneville branding and traditional typeface and colors. The multi-functional digital display provides the rider with all necessary information, such as riding mode settings, cruise control status, gear position indicator and much more, and it is all controlled through the intuitive and easily accessible scroll button mounted on the handlebar.

The iconic sculpted Bonneville tank with knee pads carries a new 3-bar heritage chromed metal badge, adding a new styling touch to the already unmistakable T120 design.

On the classic Bonneville T120, premium chrome finishes have been used throughout, maintaining the signature timeless style, including on the mirrors, mudguard stay, indicators, silencers, handlebars, headlamp bezel and filler cap. The seat is finished with contrast piping, a ribbed top and carries an embossed Triumph logo.

Alternatively, with the mean and moody Bonneville T120 Black you get a host of premium blacked-out details and components, including wheel rims, grab rail, engine covers, mirrors, headlamp bezel, indicators, and exhaust, plus a stylish brown bench seat with embossed Triumph logo.

And a set of 116 genuine Triumph accessories are available for the T120 range, enabling riders to personalize their motorcycles.

The T120 is available in 3 stylish color schemes, including a Jet Black single color option, or a choice of two twin color schemes; Cordovan Red and Silver Ice, and the Cobalt Blue and Silver Ice, both of which feature hand-painted gold lining.

For the T120 Black, there is a choice of Jet Black or a sophisticated Matte Jet Black and Matte Graphite scheme with hand-painted silver coach lining.

NEW 2021 BONNEVILLE T100
Classic. Capable. Beautiful.

The perfect introduction to the iconic Bonneville family, the latest generation of Triumph’s authentic and original T100 incorporates its torque-rich and thrilling performance, confidence-inspiring handling and timeless Bonneville style with a significant upgrade to the latest 900cc High Torque twin engine delivering 10HP more power and lower emissions. Add to that a lighter overall weight, higher specification brakes and suspension, the latest rider technology and sophisticated new detailing, and you get an even more beautiful and refined T100 ride.

Available in North America starting March 2021 for $10,500 USD

Enhanced Performance

The new Triumph Bonneville T100 features a high torque, 900cc twin-cylinder Bonneville engine, which has undergone significant updates for 2021, resulting in a lighter and more responsive powertrain.

The peak power is 10HP higher than the previous generation, at 64HP at 7,400 rpm, while peak torque is 59 LB-FT at 3750 rpm, with 80% of peak torque available all the way from 2000 rpm to 7000rpm, giving strong acceleration whenever it’s needed. The updates give the new 2021 Bonneville T100 increased power and torque from a low 3500rpm and all the way up to the rev red line, which is 500rpm higher than the previous version.

The new T100 engine now has lower emissions and excellent fuel economy.

Thanks to the low inertia crank shaft, lighter balancer shafts, a thin-walled clutch cover and a magnesium cam cover, the engine of the new T100 is considerably lighter than the previous version, significantly contributing to the 8lbs weight reduction of the new 2021 Bonneville T100. This weight loss, combined with the higher power, translates into a remarkable improvement in the throttle response and ride.

A very high service interval of 10,000 miles helps to keep the ongoing cost of ownership low.

Enhanced Handling

The handling of the 2021 Bonneville T100 has been enhanced by the 8lbs weight reduction, notably improving the bike’s agility.

The T100 also comes with a higher specification Brembo 2-piston front brake for excellent stopping power, with more bite and better feel.

The new higher specification cartridge front forks, combined with the twin rear shocks and the 32-spoke classically styled wheels, further enhance the T100’s agile and easy-handling feel for a confidence-inspiring ride.

The latest generation ABS and switchable traction control are sensitively and unobtrusively incorporated to maximize the rider’s safety and to ensure a smooth riding experience.

The comfort is ensured by a comfortable rider and passenger seat, perfect for short and longer rides, and a torque-assist clutch to reduce rider fatigue.

The seat is released via a key for easy access to the under-seat USB and the seat height is an accessible 31.1in. Together with the T100’s narrow stand-over profile, this gives a planted and secure feel at a standstill.

NEW 2021 BONNEVILLE SPEEDMASTER
Beautiful. Capable. Comfortable.

The perfect laid-back, long-distance ride, the latest generation of Triumph’s classic British custom delivers all of the Speedmaster’s all-day capability and sophisticated style, and significantly upgrades it with enhanced engine performance, higher specification equipment and more premium detailing. With 79 accessories, including luggage, the new generation promises an even more comfortable, stylish and refined ride.

Available in North America starting March 2021 for $13,150 USD

Enhanced Performance

The new Speedmaster’s heart is its characterful 1200cc, high-torque British twin engine, which has been developed for 2021 for an even more immediate and responsive feel.

The Speedmaster shares the same 270 degree firing order as the rest of the Bonneville range, with a tune specifically developed to deliver high torque and high power down low and through the rev range.

With lower inertia for 2021, the new generation Triumph Speedmaster has been evolved specifically with a new tune for a fuller and smoother power and torque delivery, and a notable lift in the mid-range, for a result that gives lower emissions, and excellent fuel economy.

Peak torque is an exceptional 78 LB-FT at a very low 3850rpm, with over 90% of torque available all the way up to 5750rpm, which makes the Speedmaster a really exciting bike to ride in any gear. 77HP peak power comes at 6,100 rpm.

The liquid-cooling system, essential for low emissions and good fuel economy, is sensitively incorporated, as is the bright chrome stainless steel exhaust. The exhaust system is unique to the Speedmaster, and is precisely crafted to deliver a rich, deep and distinctive sound, while its twin skin design cleverly hides the catalyst for an uninterrupted header run.

Triumph’s latest ride-by-wire technology ensures precise throttle control on the Speedmaster, which has two enhanced riding modes - ‘Road’ and ‘Rain’.

Both riding modes maintain the Speedmaster at full power and adjust both the throttle response and traction control settings, adding to confidence, rideability and safety, whatever the conditions.

A very high service interval of 10,000 miles helps to keep the ongoing cost of ownership low.

Enhanced Handling

The new 2021 Triumph Speedmaster features higher specification, bigger diameter 47mm Showa cartridge forks, which combined with the preload adjustable hidden monoshock rear suspension unit, provide the rider with great maneuverability, comfort and control, with and without a passenger.

Stopping power is excellent, thanks to the high-performance Brembo braking set up with twin discs. To maximize safety and control, Triumph’s latest generation ABS and switchable traction control are fitted as standard and beautifully incorporated into the design.

The Speedmaster is set up to deliver all of Triumph’s signature neutral, agile and easy handling, with a relaxed and comfortable riding position.  It has a very low seat height of just 27.5 inch, making it one of Triumph’s most accessible models.

An even more comfortable twin-seat set-up is fitted to the 2021 update. The rider’s seat now has separate lumbar support and a sculpted deep foam construction, while the passenger seat has 11mm thicker foam than the previous generation.

The seat configuration can be easily switched between a twin or single seat set up, tailoring the look of the Speedmaster to suit personal taste and allowing the fitment of a useful accessory rear rack.

A torque-assist clutch adds to comfort on long journeys or in heavy traffic and the cruise control, fitted as standard, is very easy and intuitive to use, with an easily accessed, single button operation.

Enhanced Style and Detailing

While the Speedmaster maintains the core Bonneville identity and DNA, it also has a beautiful and iconic custom cruiser style.

The bodywork on the 2021 Speedmaster is kept to a minimum with some authentic touches that keep the iconic Speedmaster look, such as the side-mounted ignition barrel, the classic rear “drum-brake” inspired hub, the battery box with its heritage-style stainless steel restraining strap and much more.

The clock has a new bezel for 2021, with subtle Bonneville branding, and a new dial face. The LCD display is controlled via an easily accessible and intuitive handlebar mounted scroll button.

For great efficiency and longevity, full LED lighting – headlight, rear light, indicators and number plate light – is a standard feature of the 2021 Speedmaster, and subject to market legislation, the headlight is equipped with a distinctive LED daytime running light for increased visibility.

The Bonneville family is the perfect platform for customization, and there is a range of over 79 Genuine Triumph Accessories to choose from. These have all been designed and developed alongside the bike to ensure perfect integration, and they have been tested to the same standards as the Speedmaster itself.

The Speedmaster’s long distance capability can be enhanced by leather or wax cotton panniers, a chrome luggage rack, passenger backrest, rider footboards and a long-haul touring screen.

Different options for seats are available, as well as an alternative accessory high bar setup, a swingarm mounted bag, teardrop mirrors in chrome or black, dresser bars, and various badges, caps, covers, and finishers.

Alternative exhausts are also available, including a fully black-finished system, and for added practicality at lower temperatures heated grips can be fitted.  These integrate with the hidden wiring that is already built into the Speedmaster.

For 2021, three stylish color schemes are available, including a Jet Black option, a new Fusion White and Sapphire Black twin-color scheme with hand-painted twin coach line, and a stunning new Red Hopper candy paint scheme.

NEW 2021 BONNEVILLE BOBBER
Pure. Brutal. Beauty.

As stunning to look at as it is thrilling to ride, the latest generation of Triumph’s stripped-back, elegant custom classic has all of the previous generation Bobber’s peerless authenticity and engineering innovation and adds all of the Bobber Black’s category-defining capability, for a new 2021 Bobber that delivers the best of both worlds. Significant updates include enhanced engine performance for an even more responsive and thrilling ride, higher specification technology and equipment, and an all-new blacked-out, chunkier style. With a range of 77 genuine Triumph accessories on offer, including an alternative high bar set-up, luggage and choice of seating options, and its class leading adjustable seating and foot peg position, the Bobber has been designed for riders to adapt to suit them and their style.

Available in North America starting March 2021 for $13,150 USD

Enhanced Performance

The new Bobber is powered by Triumph’s latest generation Bonneville 1200cc, high-torque British twin engine. Thanks to a reduction in inertia, this updated 2021 engine is more responsive, and its torque curve is fuller and smoother.

The charismatic 270 degree firing interval gives a beautifully smooth and linear power delivery, with the new engine delivering a notable lift at 5,500 rpm. Peak torque is an exceptional 78 LB-FT at a low 4,000 rpm, and peak power is 77HP at 6,100 rpm.

The 2021 Bobber produces lower emissions than the previous generation, and offers excellent fuel economy. Riding distance is also enhanced by the new, larger, 3 gal fuel tank, which gives you up to 33% more range.

Triumph’s sophisticated ride-by-wire system ensures precise throttle control and enables the two enhanced riding modes - ‘Road’ and ‘Rain’.  These adjust both the throttle response and traction control settings to add to confidence and safety in all conditions.

The unique twin airbox intakes are located under the seat, while the straight-line exhaust pipe run cleverly conceals the catalyst box. Slash-cut, sawn-off peashooter silencers complete the picture and deliver a rich and raw Bobber sound.

A very high service interval of 10,000 miles helps to keep the ongoing cost of ownership low.

Enhanced Capability

The 2021 Triumph Bobber now features a 16in fat front wheel and new, chunkier 47mm front forks, giving a really muscular and imposing front end presence.

The new front wheel is complimented by the Bobber’s wide rear wheel setup. Both have a classic wire-spoked design, with black rims. The Avon Cobra tires have been specifically developed for the Bobber, with a lightweight construction for excellent high-speed maneuverability and class-leading stability.

The Bobber is equipped with premium Brembo 2-piston calipers and twin discs, for excellent and controlled stopping power, while on the rear is a single disc set up. Triumph’s sophisticated ABS and switchable traction control are standard for added safety and security.

Central to the Bobber’s authentic hard-tail look is the floating aluminum seat, with monoshock suspension and distinctive “swing-cage” swinging arm, which ensure great wheel control and added comfort. The seat is ergonomically optimized and sculpted for comfort, with a beautifully stitched deep foam pad. The seat height is only 27 in, making it an extremely accessible motorcycle to ride.

The riding position is adjustable – and the seat can be re-positioned ‘up and forwards’, or ‘down and backwards’ to optimize comfort and control for all sizes of rider. The instruments are adjustable too, so they can be tailored to match.

New blacked-out style and detailing

The Bobber has all of the signature hallmarks and beautiful details that are widely appreciated worldwide – minimal steel fenders with a center ridge and return edge, wide flat bars with broad, adjustable levers, sculpted top yoke, rubber gaiters, classic rear ‘drum brake’ inspired hub, side-mounted ignition barrel, black painted bar end mirrors, LED bullet indicators and a new, signature full LED headlight.

For added visibility and where market legislation permits, for 2021 the headlight features Triumph’s signature LED Daytime Running Light.

And adding to the minimalist style for 2021 are new black engine covers, cam cover and sprocket cover, giving the Bobber a new, meaner, moodier edge.

For 2021 the instruments feature a new bezel, including a metallic embellisher with subtle Bonneville branding.  There’s a new dial face, with translucent silver markings, and more integrated warning lights. The multi-function display is controlled by an easily accessible handlebar mounted scroll button.

The new 2021 generation Bobber comes in three distinctive color options, with a new Matte Storm grey and Matte Ironstone scheme, a new Cordovan Red scheme, and a classic Jet Black option.

1959 BONNEVILLE T120.
The original British Superbike.

When the Bonneville T120 was launched in 1959 it changed the motorcycle world, not just because of its stunning looks, but also because it redefined what performance and motorcycling was all about. The combination of its twin cylinder and twin carburetor performance, its step change in handling and a new and unique blend of British design with 50’s Americana made the T120 a global success, where it went on to play a huge part in the explosion of 1960’s teenage biking culture in the UK, and across the world.

This legendary Triumph was famously named after the 1956 motorcycle land speed record breaking ‘Texas Cee-Gar’ streamliner Triumph, which smashed the world record hitting 214.4mph at the home of speed, the Bonneville salt flats in the USA, piloted by Texan racing legend Johnny Allen.

With a performance advantage, due to its parallel twin Triumph engine in a unique new twin carb set-up, and lightweight Triumph chassis, this original Bonneville T120 became the starting point for many of the modern classic motorcycle styles available today, where riders in the 60’s modified the T120 to create the first Bonnie café racers, custom roadsters, cruisers, bobbers and desert sled scramblers. Each of those custom bike styles went on to become iconic motorcycles in their own right, which continue today – all from that original 59 Bonneville DNA. These original customs become the bike of choice for famous motorcyclists across multiple generations, who used the Bonneville to race, ride and personalize including American movie legend Steve McQueen.

In the modern era at Triumph’s R&D center in Hinckley the Bonneville evolution has continued since its re-introduction into the line-up in 2001, with a focus on maintaining that original essence and iconic signature design features, from the timeless silhouette to their signature British twin torque rich performance and sound, married to truly modern capability and a ride to match its legendary looks. With a commitment and promise to always deliver today’s Bonneville’s, this new 2021 generation once again takes a step forward with Triumph’s class leading handling, premium finish, and thrilling performance – all designed to deliver today’s Bonneville.

New Harley-Davidson Pan America

Built to Endure, Designed to Explore, and Engineered for Adventure

Pan America Debut.jpg

MILWAUKEE (February 22, 2021) – The Pan America™ motorcycle is Harley-Davidson’s explore-it-all machine for riders who see touring as detouring – on road and off. This rugged, powerful, technologically advanced multi-purpose vehicle is designed from the ground up to inspire rider confidence and fuel the spirit of adventure, wherever the road may take you.

Harley-Davidson has leveraged its cutting-edge design and engineering capabilities to create the Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special, all-new, adventure-touring motorcycles, each designed with premium features, outstanding performance and innovative technology.

“From its inception more than a century ago, when many roads were little more than dirt trails, Harley-Davidson has stood for adventure. So, I’m very proud to present Pan America as the first adventure touring bike designed and built in America,” said Jochen Zeitz, chairman, president and CEO Harley-Davidson. “The Pan America models exude that go-anywhere spirit, shared today by riders in the US and around the globe who want to experience the world on a motorcycle.” That same adventurous spirt is deeply shared by actor and brand ambassador, Jason Momoa, who is joining creative forces with the Company to bring Pan America’s passion for adventure to the world.

Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special models are powered by the new 150hp Revolution® Max 1250 engine, a liquid-cooled 1,250cc-displacement V-Twin designed to offer a broad powerband that builds to a rush of high-RPM power. To minimize overall motorcycle weight (Pan America 1250 534lb. wet/Pan America 1250 Special 559lb. wet), the Revolution Max engine is integrated into the vehicle as the central member of the chassis.

Pan America models are equipped with technologies designed to enhance the riding experience, including multiple electronically controlled ride modes plus Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements. This broad collection of technologies is designed to match motorcycle performance to available traction during acceleration, deceleration and braking. The Pan America 1250 Special model is equipped with electronically adjustable semi-active front and rear suspension. As an industry-first innovation, Pan America is equipped with Adaptive Ride Height (ARH), a revolutionary new suspension system which automatically transitions between a low stopped position and optimal ride height when the motorcycle is in motion.

Harley-Davidson design and engineering teams collaborated throughout the process of creating and refining the Pan America™ 1250 and Pan America™ 1250 Special models with a vision guided by utility. Like a good multi-tool, function leads the form of these Harley-Davidson® models. From grab handles to integrated luggage mounts, to a horizontal headlamp configured to better illuminate an off-road trail, function defines style. Inspired by the spirit of rugged North American off-road versatility, the Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special models stand out visually in the adventure touring landscape, with design that reflects the capability of the motorcycles.

Harley-Davidson® dealers will offer a complete line of accessories for the Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special models, including three durable luggage systems, and new technical riding gear for men and women developed in collaboration with respected European motorcycle apparel specialist, REV’IT!.

The Pan America 1250 and Pan America 1250 Special models will arrive at Harley-Davidson dealerships in Spring 2021.

PAN AMERICA 1250 MODEL

The Harley-Davidson® Pan America 1250 model is a rugged, powerful, technologically advanced multi-purpose motorcycle designed for riders ready to embrace real-life adventure. The riding experience is capable and intuitive, on a motorcycle that stays composed and confident wherever your adventure takes you.

Optimized Chassis

A focus on performance and minimizing weight drove both vehicle and engine architecture, material choices, and aggressive component design optimization, all with the goal of achieving a desirable power-to-weight ratio. The powertrain is a stressed member of the chassis, eliminating the traditional frame. Three distinct elements – the front frame, the mid frame and the tail section – bolt directly to the powertrain. This design reduces motorcycle weight and results in a stiff chassis that contributes to precise handling. The cast-aluminum swingarm minimizes unsprung weight. The chassis is designed with a 62.2-inch wheelbase, ideal for touring capability (especially with a passenger and loaded luggage) and agile handling required for off-road maneuverability.

Cast aluminum wheels (19-inch front and a 17-inch rear) are designed to be strong, yet light weight, intended for use on paved roads and un-paved surfaces, such as gravel roads and fire roads. Harley-Davidson and Michelin collaboratively designed a Scorcher Adventure tire for the Pan America models to meet the demands associated with adventure touring. Michelin Anakee Wild tires with an aggressive “knobby” tread pattern will be offered through Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts & Accessories for riders seeking maximum off-road traction and a bold style profile.

Brembo® Braking

Harley-Davidson and Brembo collaborated on an all-new braking system for the Pan America™ models that is designed to provide the rider with outstanding braking feel and performance. A new radial monoblock four-piston (30 mm) caliper takes full advantage of the material characteristics to increase stiffness while reducing overall weight. Dual front brake rotors are 320mm in diameter; single rear-brake rotor is 280mm diameter. A new lightweight front brake master cylinder offers adjustable lever response.

Adjustable Suspension

The Pan America 1250 model features premium passive front and rear suspension that is fully adjustable for pre-load and compression/rebound damping. Suspension travel front and rear is 7.48 inches (190mm). Front suspension is provided by a SHOWA® 1 by 1 47mm inverted cartridge fork. Rear suspension is a SHOWA® Piggyback reservoir shock with adjustable hydraulic preload. The rear suspension incorporates a linkage system which provides a progressive feel through the stroke and maintains a comfortable, compliant ride on-road, while providing superior support for off-road conditions.

Touchscreen Display

All instrumentation and infotainment functions are displayed on a tilting 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen (thin-film-transistor, a type of liquid-crystal display noted for high image quality and contrast). Its non-reflective glass cover makes it easier to view in most lighting conditions. The touchscreen function is disabled when the motorcycle is in motion, but the rider can use hand controls to manage many functions of the screen display when the motorcycle is moving. The display supports infotainment generated by the rider’s Bluetooth-equipped mobile device, including music and calls. Navigation is supplied by the free Harley-Davidson® App for iOS or Android.

Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements

The Pan America 1250 model is equipped with Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements, a collection of technologies designed enhance rider confidence during unexpected situations or poor road conditions. The systems are electronic and utilize the latest chassis control, electronic brake control and powertrain technology. Cornering enhanced technology utilizes an inertial measurement unit, IMU, for optimal intervention when the motorcycle is leaned compared to when the motorcycle is upright. Elements of Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements for the Pan America 1250 model include: Cornering Enhanced Electronically Linked Braking, Cornering Enhanced Antilock Braking System, Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System, Cornering Enhanced Drag-Torque Slip Control System, and Hill Hold Control.

Ride Modes

Selectable Ride Modes electronically control the performance characteristics of the motorcycle, and the level of technology intervention. Five modes are available on the base model (4 are pre-programmed and one can be customized). The Pan America™ 1250 Special model has two additional modes that can be customized by the owner. Pre-programed ride modes for the Pan America 1250 models include Road, Sport, Rain, Off-Road and Off-Road Plus. Each Ride Mode consists of a specific combination of power delivery, engine braking, Cornering Enhanced Antilock Braking System (C-ABS) and Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System (C-TCS) settings. The rider may use the MODE button on the right-hand controller to change the active ride mode while riding the motorcycle or when stopped, with some exceptions.

Additional Pan America™ 1250 Model Features

  • The lightweight exhaust system is crafted from corrosion-resistant 304-series stainless steel and designed to meet global emissions (including Euro V) and sound regulations without compromising durability or the performance experienced by the rider. The catalyst is located as close to the engine as possible to minimize its size and weight and also keep heat away from the rider. A pair of mufflers – one below the engine and the second on the right side of the motorcycle – adds volume to the exhaust system, which allows effective sound muffling with minimal back pressure, which improves performance. The exhaust system is designed to create clearance under the motorcycle to limit potential impact damage during off-road riding, and to not compromise lean angle.

  • The rider portion of the seat has a high and low position which allows the rider to achieve a better fit on the motorcycle. Seat height adjustment does not require tools. Unladen seat height is 34.2 inches in the low position and 35.2 inches in the high position.

  • A four-position windscreen can be adjusted with one hand, using a lever adjacent to the display screen, through a range of 1.8 inches to best match rider stature, preference or changing environmental conditions.

  • Cruise control is standard equipment.

  • A lightweight aluminum fuel tank holds 5.6 gallons for extended riding range. The fuel filler is located forward on the top of the tank so it will not be covered by most tank bags, making it easier to fuel up with a bag in place. The fuel tank is shaped to optimize the capacity of the engine intake airbox, which is located below the tank.

  • The Pan America™ 1250 model features all-LED lighting designed to deliver signature style and outstanding performance with and additional focus on rugged durability in the off-road environment. The Daymaker® Signature LED headlamp has been designed using new photometric analysis technology to produce outstanding “punch” down the road with a very homogenous spread of light; eliminating distracting “hot spots.”

  • The front turn signals are positioned to be protected by the brush guard during off-road riding.

  • Paint Color: Vivid Black, River Rock Gray with Medallion

PAN AMERICA 1250 SPECIAL MODEL

The Pan America 1250 Special model is a premium adventure touring motorcycle loaded with the following additional exclusive features:

Semi-Active Front and Rear Suspension with Vehicle Load Control

The Pan America™ 1250 Special model is equipped with electronically adjustable semi-active front and rear suspension. Utilizing data provided by sensors on the motorcycle, this suspension system automatically controls damping to suit the prevailing conditions and riding activity. These suspension components are provided by SHOWA, while the control software was developed by Harley-Davidson. The Vehicle Loading Control system senses the weight of the rider, a passenger and luggage to select optimal suspension sag by automatically adjusting rear preload. Unladen seat height is 33.4 inches in the low position and 34.4 inches in the high position.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

The TPMS displays current front and rear tire pressure on the on the color display screen and displays an indicator to alert the rider when tire pressure is low, and the pressure should be checked. Maintaining proper tire air pressure is important both for vehicle performance and tire life.

Center Stand

The center stand supports the parked motorcycle in an upright position. With the center stand deployed the parked motorcycle takes up less space than it would leaning on its side stand, a benefit when garage space is tight. The stand also raises the rear wheel off the ground to facilitate maintenance and tire changes, at home or in the backcountry.

Multi-Position Rear Brake Pedal

Without using tools, the rear-brake foot pedal height can be changed between two positions to improve control and comfort when the rider is standing. Standing while riding through off-road terrain can improve control of the motorcycle and improve rider's vision of the trail ahead.

Brush Guard

Tubular steel brush guards are designed to protect the radiator and help support the motorcycle in a tip-over event.

Aluminum Skid Plate

This rugged skid plate is designed to protect the engine crankcase from impacts.

Daymaker® Signature Adaptive Headlamp

Advanced Daymaker® Adaptive Headlamp technology utilizes the ABS IMU to determine the lean angle of the motorcycle and automatically project additional light into corners to illuminate areas of the road that may be unlit by an LED headlamp without this technology. This may give the rider more confidence on dark roads.

  • The system includes three LED elements per side, located just above the main Daymaker headlamp.

  • The adaptive lamps illuminate in sequence based on motorcycle lean angle, at 8 degrees, 15 degrees and 23 degrees.

  • Rather than just switching on and off, the current to the adaptive elements ramps up gradually so the additional lighting is progressive and appears almost seamless to the rider.

  • The system functions when the headlight is in either high-beam or low-beam mode.

Heated Hand Grips and Hand Wind Deflectors

Both provide added comfort when riding in cool weather. Heated grips have three temperature settings, selected with a button on the hand control.

Steering Damper

A steering damper enhances dynamic performance during aggressive off-road riding.

Factory Installed Option: Adaptive Ride Height

Harley-Davidson is the first to offer this technology in the motorcycle industry, and Adaptive Ride Height (ARH) is an option for the Pan America™ 1250 Special model only. Adaptive Ride Height unlocks confidence you can feel in different scenarios by enabling a lower seat height when the motorcycle is at rest, without compromising ground clearance in motion.

This revolutionary suspension system automatically transitions the motorcycle between a low stopped position and optimal ride height when the motorcycle is in motion. The system allows the rider to mount the Pan America 1250 Special model with ease, and facilitates placing feet down to the ground at a stop, by lowering the seat height 1 to 2 inches (depending on automatically selected rear pre-load, which determines ride height when the bike is moving). Unladen seat height is 32.7 inches in the low position and 33.7 inches in the high position.  ARH retains all of the features of the semi-active front and rear suspension.

  • ARH does not compromise suspension travel – full travel is always maintained – and does not compromise lean angle, ground clearance or ride quality.

  • There are four selectable Adaptive Ride Height sub-modes:

  • Auto Mode: The system determines how quickly to lower the suspension based on how aggressive the braking action is, with the target of having the suspension fully lowered when the bike comes to a stop.

  • Short Delay and Long Delay Modes: In these modes the lowering function is delayed until the motorcycle comes to a stop, so that full ride height is maintained while the motorcycle is moving at low speeds, such as when negotiating a parking lot.

  • Locked Mode: The Adaptive Ride Height system will always maintain the normal ride height and does not lower at a stop. This mode might be selected by a tall rider who does not need Adaptive Ride Height to be flat footed at a stop, or for off-road riding when full ride height is desirable at low speeds.

Factory Installed Option: Tubeless Laced Wheels

The stainless-steel spokes are inserted through the aluminum wheel rim outside of the tire bead. These wheels offer the rider several advantages over the cast wheels in off-road conditions.

  • This design allows the use of a tubeless tire, which eliminates the weight of an inner tube.

  • The spokes are repairable in the field without removing the wheel from the motorcycle or removing the tire from the wheel.

  • The laced wheels look both rugged and high-tech.

Paint Colors: Vivid Black; Gauntlet Gray Metallic; Deadwood Green (available in select international markets only); two-tone Baja Orange and Stone Washed White Pearl; all with Split Graphic

Red Bull KTM Announces Lineup For 21 AFT Singles Championship

Red Bull KTM Announces an Exciting Two-Rider Two-Rider Lineup For 2021 AFT Singles Championship

MURRIETA, Calif. – The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team is eager to kick off the 2021 American Flat Track Championship next month with an exciting two-rider lineup in the AFT Singles Class. Returning for her third season with the team, 19-time AFT Singles winner Shayna Texter-Bauman will line up to once again battle for the top spot alongside new teammate and 2020 AFT Singles runner-up, Max Whale. The dynamic duo will compete aboard the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION machine.

“I’m really happy to bring a two-rider program back to AFT, thanks in a big way to our new partnership with Rocky Mountain ATV/MC,” said Team Manager, Chris Fillmore. “I feel that our program will really benefit from having two riders this season. As teammates, Shayna and Max already have a good chemistry and it will be good for them to really push each other on and off the track. It’s also valuable to have two riders providing feedback when we’re testing and at the races. We look forward to getting Shayna back on the podium this season and furthering her achievement as the winningest rider in AFT Singles history. We’re excited to bring Max on board in 2021, he is young and very motivated for the top spot, so I expect his hard work to pay off. We’re really looking forward to seeing both riders achieve their goals this season.”

Texter-Bauman, a multi-time race winner, collected two podium finishes last season in the AFT Singles Class where she finished 12th overall in the championship. The Pennsylvania native has been working hard during the offseason to put her #52 KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION into the mix up front in 2021.

Shayna Texter-Bauman: “Being a part of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team is an honor that I am very proud of. I'm more motivated than ever to achieve the goals that I have set for myself in the 2021 season. The team has been working hard and we are all anxious to get back to racing.”

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s newest addition, Max Whale, will debut his #18 KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION in 2021 as he enters his fourth season in the AFT Singles Class. The Australian native has progressively climbed through the ranks over the last four years, taking home a respectable second overall in last year’s championship with two race-wins and four podium finishes. With an all-new bike and team behind him, Whale looks to battle up front this season with hopes of claiming the 2021 crown.

Max Whale: “Riding for the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team this season, I feel like we have a really strong chance at the top spot. I have been fortunate enough to spend a bit of time with the team in California during the offseason and it’s been awesome. I really feel at home on the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, doing a lot of testing and just enjoying my time out here. It’s been a dream of mine to ride for Red Bull KTM and I just really want to come out and do these guys proud and end up with the number one plate.”

The 2021 Progressive AFT season kicks off with a Volusia Half-Mile doubleheader event at Volusia Speedway Park on Friday, March 12 and Saturday, March 13, 2021. Tickets for this season-opening extravaganza are on sale now here.
