JASON ANDERSON RETURNS TO RACING WITH A SEASON-BEST FINISH OF SIXTH IN INDY

ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING’S ZACH OSBORNE ROUNDS OUT THE TOP-10

The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team wrapped up another jam-packed week of racing in Indianapolis with Round 6 of the 2021 AMA Supercross World Championship at Lucas Oil Stadium. Jason Anderson, who missed the last round due to a finger injury, returned to the 450SX lineup on Saturday where he claimed a season-best finish of sixth in the premier class.

JASON ANDERSON RD 6.JPG

With only four days off between rounds, Anderson immediately went to work on rehabbing his dislocated finger so he could join teammate Zach Osborne for the final round in Indy. Anderson

got off to a great start in 450SX Heat 2 and he battled for the lead early on lap one. He held onto second for the first three laps before ultimately securing a third-place transfer. In the Main Event, Anderson got a ninth-place start and he worked his way up to eighth just after the halfway point. The 2018 450SX Champion maintained a steady pace in the final laps to pick up two additional spots for a sixth-place finish.

“My night went decent, I was just pumped to be able to do enough therapy on my finger to be able to race tonight,” Anderson said. “I had a better heat, which made myself feel a little bit better and we did some suspension work. In the main, I didn’t get that great of a start but I was able to get better and move through the pack. I’m slowly getting better but not where we want to be, so we’ll get there.”

Osborne had a strong start to the night in 450SX Heat 1, grabbing a third-place start and mixing it up with the front-runners. He rode a sturdy pace to maintain that position all the way through the checkers, carrying a third-place transfer into the Main Event. He didn’t get the best start in the main, battling around the top-10 throughout the entire 26-lap race. In the end, Osborne secured 10th for the night.

“It was a little bit of a tough night,” Osborne said. “I didn’t get a start in the main and it wasn’t one of my best rides of the season. Back to the drawing board this week, I have a few things I would like to really work on and focus on to be better for next weekend in Orlando.”

Team riders Dean Wilson and RJ Hampshire were absent from Round 6 as they continue to recover from injuries sustained early in the season.

RD Coffee Introduces HOLESHOT Espresso Blend

Multi-Time Motocross Champion Ryan Dungey’s

RD Coffee Introduces HOLESHOT Espresso Blend

Newest Addition is the Fifth Roast of Company’s Growing Lineup

CHANHASSEN, Minn. (January 14, 2021) Multi-time AMA Pro Motocross and AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey and his budding specialty coffee company, RD Coffee, has introduced the newest addition to its growing lineup of roasts: HOLESHOT Espresso. As its name suggests, this unique small-batch blend of meticulously sourced Colombian and Guatemalan beans provides the kind of added intensity and complex flavors that will be sure to help anyone get an early jump on their day.

In addition to being the fifth roast from RD Coffee, the same number Ryan wore on his way to becoming one of the sport’s all-time greats, HOLESHOT is also the first espresso blend in the company’s flagship lineup of roasts. It features the highest grade of coffee beans available, sustainably sourced directly from farms in both Colombia and Guatemala, and is roasted to find the perfect balance to draw out the complex citrus and milk chocolate flavors. The end result is a rich brew anchored by a clean and smooth taste that’s more than enough to get someone off to a fast start and carry on to a strong finish.

“Sometimes you need that little extra to get going, and in the sport of motocross that added boost of energy and focus often results in a holeshot, putting you ahead of the pack. To me, that was the perfect way to symbolize an espresso roast, which carries a little bit more punch,” explained Dungey. “It’s been an amazing journey so far with this new endeavor and I’m so excited to welcome our fifth roast, a number that personally means a lot to me. I’ve learned a lot in a short amount of time and I’m fully committed to making RD Coffee relatable to everyone on their own journey.”

Over the course of a decorated racing career in which he captured an incredible eight national championships, two ESPY Awards, and became the first motocross athlete to be featured on a Wheaties box, Ryan fell in love with coffee during his travels across the U.S. and around the world. Soon enough, the same passion he shared for motocross also fueled his desire to learn more about this ancient miracle beverage. When he hung up his helmet and boots for good in 2017, Ryan dedicated his time to learning the intricacies of the coffee industry, from ethically sourcing the beans to the nuances of roasting and brewing. In March 2020, RD Coffee was born.

On the racetrack, Ryan’s success was a byproduct of an unwavering commitment to perfection and a determination that was often unmatched on the starting gate. Additionally, his selfless humility and endearing personality made him one of the sport’s most beloved and relatable figures. His integrity as a world-class athlete made Ryan a source of inspiration and encouragement for fans all over the world.

Each of those values combine to serve as the cornerstone of RD Coffee, which strives to provide the absolute best ingredients for anyone in search of a little more out of their cup of java. Like so many others, coffee has become an integral part of Ryan’s everyday life, giving him the daily boost to chase his passions. That’s why the company’s mantra is as relatable as Ryan himself - “Fuel Your Pursuit.” No matter the motivation, RD Coffee is here to serve great-tasting coffee and inspire others on their journey.

All-New Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS – Global Reveal

All-new in every dimension, the Speed Triple 1200 RS has been purpose designed from the ground up to deliver an absolute revolution in terms of Speed Triple power, performance, handling and technology, giving the ultimate performance naked sport bike.

THE MOST POWERFUL, HIGHEST TORQUE AND FASTEST
ACCELERATING SPEED TRIPLE EVER.

With an all-new higher capacity 1160cc triple engine, developed with insight from our Moto2™ race engine program, the new Speed Triple 1200 RS delivers 177HP peak power at 10,750 rpm and 92lbft peak torque at 9,000 rpm, giving an incredibly exhilarating ride. It’s also more responsive, it is 650rpm higher revving, and comes with a new free-breathing intake and exhaust for a hair-raising new triple soundtrack.

speed-triple-family-promo-955x537.jpg

All-new engine

The powertrain has been completely re-designed, with every single element engineered for increased performance and reduced mass, making the new engine significantly lighter, by 15lb. It’s more compact compared to the previous Speed Triple powertrain, despite the bigger capacity, giving the new model the perfect balance of aggression, performance and control.

Significantly higher power and torque

The engine delivers significantly higher power and torque compared to the previous generation – making this the most powerful and torque-rich Speed Triple ever – with fantastic performance and character across the entire rev range, and all of the signature “wall of torque” triple delivery, taken to a whole new level.

The engine delivers blistering new performance, with 29HP more power and a peak of 177HP at 10,750 rpm. It revs harder, with the red line now raised by 650 rpm to 11,150rpm, and maintains all of the incredible torque and character in the low and mid-range that the Speed Triple has always been renowned for, with 92 lbft peak torque at 9,000rpm, 6 lbft more than the outgoing model.

Incredible power-to-weight ratio

The outstanding performance of the new 3 cylinder engine, combined with the reduced weight of the all-new Speed Triple 1200 RS, delivers the highest power-to-weight ratio in the Speed Triple’s history, over 25% greater than the previous generation, and nearly double the original 1994 Speed Triple.

The best sounding Speed Triple ever produced

Thanks to the all-new free-breathing intake and exhaust system, the new Speed Triple 1200 RS is also the best sounding Speed Triple ever produced, with a visceral intake roar and characteristic triple exhaust howl.

Thanks to 12% less powertrain inertia, the engine also picks up quicker, feels sharper, and sounds sharper still.

Optimized new clutch and gearbox

There is a new lighter weight slip and assist clutch which uses state-of-the-art friction compound to reduce the number of clutch plates, minimizing mass and improving clutch feel, while maximizing control during high speed downshifting.

Combined with a completely new, and more compact, stacked 6-speed gearbox, gear changes are significantly smoother than the previous generation, with optimized ratio progression.

Performance is further enhanced by the new ignition system, with twin tip spark plugs for increased durability at high engine speeds as well as by a reduced weight of the cooling system, neatly packaged with an integrated oil circuit heat exchanger.

speed-triple-family-multi-block-image-1-630x788.jpg

THE MOST AGILE, PRECISE, DYNAMIC AND RESPONSIVE
HANDLING SPEED TRIPLE EVER.

22lb lighter and with an all-new lightweight chassis, all new rider ergonomics and a more dominant and purposeful riding position, the new Speed Triple 1200 RS is nothing less than a handling revolution.  Premium track specification equipment includes new Brembo Stylema® brakes, Metzeler RACETEC™ RR tires and performance tuned Öhlins suspension.

All of these improvements combine to deliver a new Speed Triple 1200 RS that’s been designed to feel as agile and dynamic to ride as a Street Triple RS.

All-new lightweight chassis

The all-new chassis has been designed from the ground up to deliver the lightest and best handling Speed Triple ever, with even more agile, precise and dynamic handling, in a tighter, more toned, and mass centralized package.

With a wet weight of just 437lb, the new bike is an incredible 22lb lighter than the previous generation. It has a 17% lighter cast aluminum frame with weight distribution that is further forward and lower down.

Dominant and purposeful riding position

The new Speed Triple 1200 RS has 13mm wider handlebars, delivering a more dominant and purposeful riding position, giving better feel and control for a more predictable ride. Improvements in the ergonomics of the bike and the riding position are achieved through the new footrest position, which has been moved inwards slightly from the previous generation model, allowing improved ground clearance without compromising leg room.

Substantial improvements have also been made to the seat profile and construction, which is now more comfortable, while allowing the rider to take a more natural tucked-in position for focussed riding. Seat height is a comfortable 32.7in.

Premium Öhlins fully adjustable suspension

Contributing to the handling revolution of the all-new Speed Triple 1200 RS are premium track specification components fitted as standard.

The fully-adjustable Öhlins suspension both front and rear has been tuned to deliver the optimum balance of performance, comfort and control.

On the front, the Speed Triple 1200 RS has Öhlins NIX30 upside down forks, adjustable for pre-load, rebound and compression damping, while on the rear the rider can benefit from the Öhlins TTX36 twin tube monoshock, also adjustable for preload, rebound and compression damping.

The entire suspension package has been tuned for the bike’s lower weight, higher power and torque, and new geometry, and developed to feel just as at home on the track as it is on the road.

Fork protectors are available as accessory fit.

High performance Brembo brakes

Incredible stopping power is provided by the new Brembo brakes on both front and rear.

On the front, the new high-performance twin Brembo Stylema® radial monobloc front calipers, with lighter 320mm front discs, ensure track-ready braking power, and on the rear a single Brembo twin-piston rear caliper enables the rider to balance the braking effort and enhances the overall control of the bike both on the road and on track.

A Brembo MCS span and ratio adjustable brake lever is available to further enhance the rider’s comfort and control.

Exceptional grip

The standard tires fitted to the new Speed Triple 1200 RS are the high-performance Metzeler Racetec RR, which are Metzeler’s highest specification tires approved for road use, and are capable of delivering optimum performance both on the road and on track.

Additionally, the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC2 tire can be fitted to the new Speed Triple 1200 RS as a factory approved track option.

THE SMARTEST, SHARPEST AND MOST TECHNOLOGICALLY
ADVANCED SPEED TRIPLE EVER.

ST1200-1.png

The new 1200 RS comes equipped with a step change in Speed Triple technology, including all-new 5” TFT instruments, new Triumph Shift Assist up-and-down quickshifter, Optimized Cornering ABS, switchable Optimized Cornering Traction Control (with IMU), 5 riding modes – including Track mode, new distinctive full LED lighting, full keyless system and the My Triumph Connectivity System fitted as standard.

All-new 5” TFT instruments

The new Speed Triple 1200 RS features brand new 5” TFT instruments.

Both the TFT screen itself, as well as the user interface, are completely new, designed to provide the rider with the capability of applying more on-the-go adjustment compared to the previous generation, such as the ability to change traction control settings while riding.

Key information is clearly available for the rider, who will instantly be able to know their speed, gear and tacho thanks to the new TFT display and its new configuration, with space being created for any additional information or menus by sliding the tacho to the side as required.

The layout of the TFT screen is available in two different themes, which change the color scheme of the display, and the new optically bonded 5-inch screen guarantees less reflection and therefore improves the image clarity in any lighting condition.

A lap timer is also included for track use.

My Triumph Connectivity System fitted as standard

The user interface on the new Speed Triple 1200 RS is further enhanced by the My Triumph Connectivity system, which is fitted as standard.

Speed Triple owners can now access turn-by-turn navigation via the free My Triumph app, GoPro control, phone control and music operation. The rider is able to control all of this through the switch cubes and will access all related information through the TFT screen.

Enhanced new Triumph Shift Assist

The technology revolution of the new Speed Triple 1200 RS includes substantial improvement in the ride-enhancing features available as standard.

A new Triumph Shift Assist up and down quickshifter is part of the standard equipment.

Ideal for spirited riding and track use, it enables clutchless up and down shifts while maintaining the throttle position, ensuring smooth, effortless and refined gear shifting both while accelerating or decelerating, thanks to its new variable position sensor, which ensures an optimised shifting position.

Optimized Cornering ABS

The new Optimized Cornering ABS system represents an additional confidence-inspiring aid to the rider of the new Speed Triple 1200 RS. The new Continental MIB-EVO ABS modular, with an integrated 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) and more refined ABS control, continuously monitors roll, pitch and yaw acceleration rates, to calculate lean angle and ensure the optimum brake force for any situation.

The system is adjustable through the TFT instruments and left-hand switch cube, and offers two selectable levels of intervention, “Road” and “Track”. The “Track” settings have been tuned to be unintrusive, and virtually imperceptible during fast track riding. The ABS settings are linked to the riding modes, but can also be selected independently if the rider chooses.

The new linked braking system improves stopping distances and stability under hard braking.

Switchable Optimized Cornering Traction Control

Also facilitated by the IMU, the Speed Triple 1200 RS’s new Optimized Cornering Traction Control ensures the optimum slip rate and torque control at any lean angle, improving acceleration and control in both straight lines and when cornering.

There are 4 levels of intervention to choose from (“Rain”, “Road”, “Sport” and “Track”), plus the ability to turn traction control off completely. Again, the “Track” setting has been developed to maximize forward progress and minimize perceived intervention when riding hard. Traction control settings are linked to the riding modes but can also be independently adjusted.

Enhanced front wheel lift control

The enhanced front-wheel lift control is designed to enhance rider control of the new 1160cc triple engine, without feeling intrusive to the rider, and has advanced new algorithms that continuously monitor the signals from the IMU to ensure smoother control and faster progress. The settings are linked to and optimised for each traction control mode, allowing the level of intervention to be tailored to the conditions and riding style.

5 customizable riding modes, with enhanced “Track” mode

ST1200-3.png

The new Speed Triple 1200 RS features 5 distinct riding modes: Rain, Road, Sport, Track and Rider. Each riding mode adjusts the behavior of the bike to suit the intended use. Thanks to the ride-by-wire throttle system, the throttle response is adjusted according to the selected riding mode, as well as the traction control and ABS settings.

The new enhanced “Track” mode has been specifically designed to be as unintrusive as possible in track riding, while still providing the reassurance that the electronic systems are there to help in unexpected situations.

When in wet conditions, the rider can select the “Rain” riding mode, which reduces the power down to 98HP and increases the level of intervention of the other safety features.

Riding mode adjustments are easily accessible through the switchgear while riding.

Distinctive new all-LED lighting

Safety has been further enhanced thanks to the stunning new aggressively styled lighting system on the new Speed Triple 1200 RS, which includes the new LED headlights with incredibly distinctive new daytime running light signature (market specific), that are now brighter and whiter for enhanced visibility on the road.

The attractive new taillight is equally distinctive and has been completely redesigned with a unique signature LED design, delivering a more compact silhouette to the rear.

Self-cancelling indicators are fitted as standard.

New full keyless system

The new Speed Triple 1200 RS is also equipped, for the very first time on a Triumph, with a full keyless system, including keyless ignition and steering lock, as well as a new keyless fuel filler cap.

To ensure greater security, the keyless system can be disabled if required with the simple press of a button on the key fob.

Cruise control fitted as standard

Through the switch cubes, the rider can activate the fully adjustable cruise control, which is fitted as standard, for improved long distance rideability.

Enhanced switchcube illumination

To complete the riding-aid features, the unique in segment backlit switch cubes now have a more penetrative amber glow from the LEDs inside the switches, making them easier to read.

For additional rider comfort and convenience, neatly integrated internally wired heated grips and a tire pressure monitoring system are available as accessory fit.

Lightweight new lithium ion battery

A lithium ion battery is fitted as standard, which is 60% lighter than the equivalent lead-acid battery, reducing the overall weight by 5lb.

A new accessory battery charger is available, which is suitable for both lithium ion and conventional lead acid batteries.

ALL-NEW MUSCULAR AND ARRESTING POISE AND PRESENCE

The new Speed Triple 1200 RS is the new definition of pure aggressive attitude, poise & style, with a muscular and arresting poise and presence, and purer, cleaner and sharper lines. Encapsulating all the iconic Speed Triple design DNA, born from the category creating 1994 original, this new generation resets the benchmark for focused Speed Triple attitude and style.

Compact new bodywork

The compact new premium bodywork is shaped by newly designed elements such as a carbon fiber front mudguard, color coded belly pan and seat cowl with an interchangeable passenger seat, and a new compact tail unit.

Distinctive new lightweight wheels

The aggressive look of the new Speed Triple 1200 RS is reinforced by its new 17-inch lightweight cast aluminum, black painted V-spoke wheels.

Two striking new Speed Triple color schemes

Two bold new paint and graphics schemes are available for the new Speed Triple customer to choose from: Sapphire Black, with red and silver graphics, or Matt Silver Ice, with black, silver and yellow graphics.

Triumph’s signature attention to detail

A host of premium finishes, including dramatic new RS graphics and a branded handlebar clamp, can be admired on the new Speed Triple and, like all Triumphs, the incredible attention to detail led to all the cables and hoses being hidden from view.

New accessories

Speed Triple 1200 RS owners can personalize their motorcycle by choosing from a range of 35 accessories, with options to improve style and detailing, technology, luggage, protection, and care.

To personalize the style and detailing of the bike, the rider can choose to fit the body-colored flyscreen, tinted flyscreen visor, machined sports bar end mirrors, machined front and rear brake reservoirs, machined aluminum rear axle finisher and much more.

Technology can be further enhanced thanks to the range of accessories available: scrolling LED indicators and a tire pressure monitoring system are just two examples of the possibilities available through the accessories list.

Accessory luggage is also available for the new Speed Triple, with matching water-resistant tank and tail bags which have a quick release mounting mechanism.

Speed Triple owners can further protect their motorcycle with frame protectors, fork protectors and tank pad, and also when parked with an all-weather cover and the accessory battery charger.

Price, service and warranty

The new Speed Triple 1200 RS will be $18,300 USD

Overall cost of ownership is reduced, thanks to the high 10,000 miles service interval, and the 2 years unlimited mileage warranty.

The new Speed Triple 1200 RS is anticipated to arrive to American Triumph dealers in late-March.

UNIQUELY FOCUSED AND FIT FOR PURPOSE

Aggressive, agile and purposeful; the original Triumph Speed Triple created the performance naked category back in 1994 and coined the phrase ‘factory streetfighter’. Designed from the ground up for the road, as a naked performance street bike, the 2005 Speed Triple 1050 then reset the benchmark all over again in a competitive class of predominantly adapted track-oriented sports bikes.

With the new Speed Triple 1200 RS, once again, Triumph stands almost alone in the category with a motorcycle that has been designed first and foremost as a road-focused naked performance street bike, with all of the benefits for the rider, and none of the shortcomings inherent in track-focused motorcycles evolved for the road, where power, torque and handling can never be fully exploited.

Indian Motorcycle Announces FTR Lineup

FTR Lineup Tuned for Optimal Street Performance with New 17-inch Wheels, Metzeler Sportec Tires & Lower Seat Height That Delivers World-Class Handling and Performance

MINNEAPOLIS (January 26, 2021) – Indian Motorcycle redefined what an American V-Twin can be with the introduction of its category-defying FTR platform in 2019. Now, America’s First Motorcycle Company is taking the beloved FTR platform to a whole new level with a host of enhancements to the 2022 FTR lineup. Born and evolved as the ultimate intersection of style and performance, the FTR updates include a thoughtfully refined engine, a suspension tuned for the street, and 17” tires and wheels; together delivering world-class performance while making the bike feel more compact and maneuverable.

“The FTR is unlike any other motorcycle in its ability to deliver superior performance while making a powerful statement of style and self-expression. The updates we’ve delivered further solidify that promise for even the most discerning riders,” said Mike Dougherty, President of Indian Motorcycle. “Indian Motorcycle has always pushed the bounds of motorcycling, innovated, and continuously improved and I think the new FTR is another great example of that.”

Amidst the ever-popular neo-retro segment, the FTR stands out thanks to its American heritage, iconic silhouette, and class-leading fit and finish.  In addition to style, the FTR delivers an unmatched feature set including a 4.3-inch digital touch screen display and a 1203cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine that produces 120 horsepower and 87 ft-lbs of torque.  With its perfect balance of style and performance the FTR lineup delivers a truly superior riding experience.

“The FTR has a totally unique feel, which riders of all experience levels love. Our aim was to preserve that DNA, while at the same enhance and refine the bike,” said Ben Lindaman, Product Director for Indian Motorcycle. “The end result is a stunning, one-of-a-kind motorcycle that oozes retro character but still begs you to twist the throttle and get after it.”

All new FTR models feature a retuned engine calibration that refines cold start performance, and delivers a smoother, more predictable throttle response.  Additional FTR lineup enhancements include the following:

2022-FTR-R-Carbon-01.jpg

FTR, FTR S & FTR R Carbon

The FTR, FTR S, and FTR R Carbon models are outfitted with 17-inch cast aluminium wheels wrapped with Metzeler Sportec street tires – resulting in precision handling in corners and nimble handling on the street. Smaller wheels, along with the bike’s front and rear suspension which offer 120mm of travel, contribute to a lower seat height by 1.4-inches – opening the door for more riders to throw a leg over the FTR. Additionally, the ProTaper handlebars were trimmed by 1.5-inches (40mm) to support the bike’s nimble handling and give riders more control.

Additional updates for the new FTR line further refine rider comfort. These three models offer fully adjustable front and rear suspension, a new feature added to the FTR base, as well as cylinder deactivation to manage engine heat when the motorcycle is idle.

Additionally, each FTR model packs a host of standard features that carry over from previous FTR iterations. An inverted front suspension tuned for the street, along with radially mounted dual Brembo brakes provide riders with exceptional control and superior stopping power, while cruise control contributes to a comfortable ride.

Key points of differentiations between models, include the following:

FTR

Starting at $12,999, the base FTR features an analog gauge and is available in Black Smoke with red accents throughout, including red pinstripes on the wheels, red Indian Motorcycle script branding across the tank, and a red rear shock spring.

FTR S

With two paint options, Maroon Metallic and White Smoke, the FTR S begins at $14,999. The premium offering includes Indian Motorcycle’s 4.3-inch touchscreen display, which offer phone integration via Bluetooth or USB and configurable gauges. The FTR S is standard with an upgraded Akrapovic exhaust, three ride modes, wheelie control with rear lift mitigation, stability control, traction control and cornering ABS. Additionally, a fast-charging USB port provides a convenient means to staying charged.

FTR R Carbon

The FTR R Carbon sits at the top as the premier model in the FTR lineup. In addition to the aforementioned features listed with the FTR S, the FTR R Carbon sets itself apart with carbon fiber tank covers, front fender and headlight nacelle, fully adjustable Öhlins gold front fork and gold piggyback shock, a black Akrapovic exhaust, premium seat cover, and numbered badging on the console. The FTR R Carbon is available starting at $16,999

FTR Rally

Maintaining its scrambler aesthetic, the FTR Rally features Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires over wire-spoke wheels with an 18-inch in the rear and 19-inch in front. Like other FTR models, the FTR Rally receives the refined engine calibration and throttle response, along with rear cylinder deactivation. The FTR Rally’s ProTaper handlebars are two inches higher than other FTR models for better comfort and handling with a more relaxed ergonomic position. The FTR Rally features an analog gauge and is available starting at $13,999 in Titanium Smoke.

Accessories

An ideal platform for personalization, the FTR also receives an expanded offering of style, performance and comfort accessories. Webb Grabs Thrilling Win

Cooper Webb Grabs Thrilling 450SX Class Win in Texas

Colt Nichols Nabs 250SX Class Win

Houston, Texas, (January 23, 2021) Round three of the 2021 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, finished its triple-header inside NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas and delivered the third winner in as many rounds. Red Bull KTM's Cooper Webb made a last lap pass to capture the 450SX Class win in front of 9,115 limited-attendance, pod-style seated, enthusiastic fans. Team Honda HRC's Ken Roczen was on Webb's rear tire at the end for second and Monster Energy Kawasaki's Adam Cianciarulo brought home his first podium in 2021. The Eastern Regional 250SX Class also delivered its third winner in three rounds when Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha's Colt Nichols fought past his teammate to grab his first win in two years. The event kicked off the sport's fourth year of partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with a new 'text to donate' campaign.

Webb led at the 450SX Class Main Event holeshot line but Team Honda HRC's Ken Roczen hung close then moved past him two minutes into the 20-minute plus one lap race. Adam Cianciarulo settled into third with season-opener winner Troy Lee Designs / Red Bull / GASGAS Factory Racing's Justin Barcia close behind. Defending champ Monster Energy Kawasaki's Eli Tomac was off to a mid-pack start and moved up through the field steadily.

Barcia was the fastest rider on the track, but a crash in the sand section after the midpoint of the race ended his chances of a podium finish. Roczen pulled, what appeared as, a comfortable lead of over three seconds late in the race, but Webb started his charge and moved his KTM up to the Honda rider's rear wheel in the closing laps. Webb benefitted when a lapper flustered Roczen on the final lap; Webb took advantage and tucked inside a 180-degree corner, cut across the ruts, and sealed his spot in the lead.

The win was the twelfth for Cooper Webb and the 50th Monster Energy Supercross Main Event win for KTM; an impressive milestone with their first win coming in 2012. The second place finish pushed Ken Roczen into the points lead, only one point ahead of both Webb and Barcia.

The Eastern Regional 250SX Class delivered its own excitement as Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha's Christian Craig took the early lead and looked poised to repeat his round one win, but his teammate Colt Nichols kept close and made his first pass into the lead with just under three minutes left on the race clock. Craig fought back, but within two laps Nichols charged past again and made it stick to put himself into a title points tie with Craig. Last weekend's first-time winner, Team Honda HRC's Jett Lawrence, got a bad jump at the start and had to play catch up. An aggressive pass on Troy Lee Designs / Red Bull / GASGAS Factory Racing's Michael Mosiman for third earned the Honda rider a podium on the night. Title favorites Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Austin Forkner and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's RJ Hampshire both sat out with injuries incurred in qualifying and free practice.

Feld Entertainment engaged racing fans in its 2021 ‘We Won't Stop’ campaign to raise awareness and funding for the incredible St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Race fans are encouraged to get involved by texting "SUPER" to 785-833 to donate to the organization's mission to eliminate childhood cancer, make treatment free to families, as well as share medical breakthroughs freely. To date, the partnership between Supercross and St. Jude has raised $600,000.

The series shifts to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana where another Saturday-SuperTuesday-Saturday triple-header drops the gate on January 30th. Feld has managed a limited-seating program that allows fan attendance. Tickets for several events in Indianapolis, Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Arlington are available for sale now, with tickets for the final rounds becoming available in the coming weeks.

ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING HOUSTON

ANDERSON LEADS THE CHARGE IN HOUSTON WITH EIGHTH-PLACE FINISH

Wrapping up their third race in just seven days, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team closed the first chapter of the 2021 AMA Supercross World Championship on Saturday in Houston, Texas as they look ahead to the remaining rounds of the series. Jason Anderson and Zach Osborne claimed top-10 finishes in the 450SX class, while teammate Dean Wilson just missed the top-10 with a hard-fought 11th place.

JASON ANDERSON RD 3 .png

Anderson continues to make steady improvements in his 2021 performance. Coming out of the gate with a top-10 start, Anderson quickly placed himself into fifth in 450SX Heat 1. He maintained a consistent pace and secured a fifth-place transfer into the main. He pulled out of the gate with a sixth-place start in the Main Event and he fought hard to keep that position early on. The 2018 450SX Champion persisted through the chaos in the Main Event to ultimately finish in eighth.

“My night was pretty good,” Anderson said. “I ended up getting a top-10 and I feel like I’m coming around, just going to try to keep getting better from here.”

Osborne has proven to be a 450SX Championship contender but the cards haven’t quite fallen his way this season. Riding quick and consistent in qualifying to finish fourth, he carried that momentum into a solid top-five start in 450SX Heat 1. He inserted himself into the podium battle early on but he was never able to break into the top-three, securing a solid fourth-place transfer. In the Main Event, Osborne had his work cut out for him with an 11th place start but he kept his calm and edged his way into a top-10 finish.

“My night was rather disappointing honestly,” Osborne said. “I feel like I’m riding the best I’ve ever been riding in my life – and in my 450 career – and to start with two 10th places and a ninth is a little disappointing. I’ll improve this week and be better in Indy.”

Wilson, with a mid-pack start in 450SX Heat 2, made some quick passes to sit just outside the top five early in the race. Nearly missing a pile up on lap two, he maintained his consistent pace to land a safe sixth-place transfer spot. In the Main Event, Wilson began in 17th off the start but he quickly climbed his way through the field to gain five more positions in the first half of the race. Maintaining his mid-pack position for the duration, Wilson finished just shy of the top-10 with 11th for the night.

“My night was okay,” Wilson said. “I didn’t get a great start, I really pushed the first corner trying to be up there but everyone is so good at starts. I was outside top-15 and came back to 11th, which is not really what we want but we’ll keep pushing to be better.”

250SX East

Team rider RJ Hampshire suffered a practice crash during the day’s first untimed session and he missed the evening’s racing due to an injured wrist.
