Tarform is a mobility brand based in Brooklyn, New York. We are launching our first street legal electric motorcycle that embodies design, technology and sustainability.

The challenges in our society are rising and we are in the beginning of a paradigm shift. How we move through the world will never be the same. Our modern culture has started to embrace alternative forms of sustainable transport.

We set out to create a new kind of mobility brand that honors the past and embraces the future.

We believe that the vehicles of tomorrow should be built to last, technology should be used to create empowering experiences and the spirit of craftsmanship should be preserved.

Most importantly, sustainability should inspire us to take care of our environment.

DESIGN PRINCIPLES

The concept behind the Tarform motorcycle is based on 3 key principles:

1. Designed to embrace change

A modular platform that enables continuous upgradability of parts and aesthetic appearance that can evolve.

2. Technology that empowers

The use of sensors, machine learning and connectivity to design intelligent machines and provide meaningful insights to the rider.

3. Care for our environment

Take responsibility for the lifecycle of the vehicle. We prioritize the use of natural high performance bio-materials and work with ethical suppliers.

TECHNOLOGY

Technological progress is reshaping our world on a daily basis. We believe that vehicles should be built for upgradability and not obsolescence.

The Tarform Luna is designed for modularity where the battery pack can be upgraded as technology improves. The bodywork can be changed for a new style and software can be updated for a smarter ride.

We designed a technological layer that enhances safety. A radar acts as blindspot detection. Vibration through the seat alerts you of any vehicles in your blindspot. A rear facing camera enables you to see what is behind you.

At the end of the ride, the rider can view their statistics on the Tarform mobile app and get insights that can help to become a better and safer rider.

ECOLOGY

The Tarform motorcycle is inspired by nature's own intelligence. The bodywork is made from a flax seed weave that acts as a reinforcing mechanism to the composite panel construction. Aluminum is used for most components as it is 100 percent recyclable.
The seat upholstery is made out of biodegradable vegan leather.

Our goal is to build the world's most sustainable vehicles without compromise.

Tarform is developing a new way of eliminating the need of paints and primers with a mono material infused with algae- and iron based metallic pigments.

TARFORM LUNA 2021

A perfect blend between the tall stance of a scrambler, the acceleration of a sportbike, and the comfortable all-round balance of a British classic. Tarform Luna is a machine built to travel over cobble streets to canyons without leaving a trace.

In 2021 we will begin deliveries of the Tarform Luna. The production series will be positioned in the premium market at a starting price of $24,000.

On June 25th, we will be launching a new website on t​ arform.com​ and will begin accepting pre-orders for deliveries in 2021. The reservation fee is $500 and is fully refundable.

TARFORM LUNA FOUNDER EDITION 2020

The Tarform Founder Edition is a custom motorcycle that is made to order.
A limited edition of 54 machines hand-made in Brooklyn. We use top of the line suspension from Ohlins and performance brake systems from ISR. Each frame is TIG welded by hand. The body is hand shaped out of recycled aluminium.

DISTRIBUTION

A direct to consumer model coupled with concept stores will enable us to provide an end to end customer experience. The Tarform Atelier is a physical location that will be a hybrid between a concept store, community space and prototyping lab. Our first spaces will be New York and Los Angeles.

FOUNDER STORY

The idea behind Tarform began 4 years ago at a garage in Brooklyn while working on a vintage British motorcycle. This machine powered by oil and fire, became a cultural icon during the 20th century. Considering the current state of our environment, it became evident that it was time to retire this faithful servant as its byproduct is harmful to us.

A concept began to form around creating a new breed of intelligent machines powered by clean energy and made with respect to nature.

Our modern age is defined by comfort, on-demand culture and infinite progress. Objects do things for us. Anything we can imagine is delivered on our doorstep within a day.
Our cars are driverless and our devices suggest who we should meet. We are beginning to realize that comfort comes at a cost and we are forgetting about what our spirit needs.

Something deep inside tells us that movement is freedom. It is more important than ever to preserve this spirit.

Motorcycle riding is one of the most powerful human experiences. We are in love
with these machines because they transport us beyond the physical space.
From technical innovation to art and design, to an act of rebellion and the search of self.

Tarform is here to serve as a reminder of that experience. To instill beauty, craftsmanship and pride in every vehicle we create. To provide a sense of awe, wonder and thrill in a sustainable way.
