Bio:

Mario Alvisi was born in Florence, Italy, and obtained his Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florence and a Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Bologna.

In 2004 he joined Ducati where he spent 11 years as Product Manager, Global Network Development Manager, and Brand Director.

He managed prestigious motorcycle projects such as Monster, Multistrada 1200 and Diavel, and he ideated and launched a business app (DCS, Ducati Communication System) that was quoted by Tim Cook (Apple CEO) as one of the best three business apps in 2012.

In 2013 Alvisi assembled a young and innovative team with the aim to create and launch a new brand inside Ducati: Scrambler Ducati. Alvisi ideated, designed and launched Scrambler not just as a new motorcycle, but as a new brand, including apparel, accessories, and food. Scrambler was a great success globally in terms of sales, breaking the first-year sales record for a Ducati Motorcycle with 16,000 units. For the very first time in the Ducati history, a motorcycle made in Borgo Panigale entered the prestigious “Top 10” worldwide ranking in 2015.

Following this success, in 2015 Alvisi joined Alfa Romeo (the Italian manufacturer part of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group) as Marketing Director where he worked on the relaunch of the prestigious Italian brand, through the new car models Giulia and Stelvio.

In 2017 Alvisi was appointed General Director of Abarth, the Italian racing car and road car maker founded by Italo-Austrian Carlo Abarth in 1949.  He ideated and launched the Abarth 695 Rivale, a car made in conjunction with Riva Yacht: the most refined 500 Abarth ever made.
