Special-Edition-T100-Gold-Line-1.jpg

Showcasing the hand-painted gold lining skills of Triumph’s expert paint shop and reflecting customer demand for brighter and more custom-inspired schemes, the new Bonneville Gold Line Editions bring a unique style and premium hand-painted detail to eight motorcycles in Triumph’s renowned Modern Classic range. All available for one year only, the Gold Line Editions feature all of the recent updates of the new Bonneville generation, including enhanced capability and performance, and more beautiful style.

Following the success of the Street Twin Gold Line Edition launched earlier in 2021, which sold out within the season, the new range of eight Bonneville Gold Line Editions takes the latest generation models and adds a unique and exquisite hand-painted ‘gold line’ color scheme to each. Perfectly illustrating the quality and attention to detail that Triumph is renowned for, and only available for one year, these new Gold Line Editions are premium, desirable and exclusive.

The Art of Gold Lining The industry-leading hand-painted gold lining expertise of Triumph’s paint shop is a skill that takes incredible patience, years of experience and the steadiest of hands. Many of the new Gold Line Edition designs start with a two-color base scheme, where the joining point between the two colors is flattened down. The gold line is then carefully hand-applied, usually in one continuous stroke by the artist, using a very specialized soft-bristled sword-liner brush. Once the pin stripe is in place, it’s sealed against the elements with a final clear coat of lacquer. The paints used for the gold lining are specially formulated by mixing a powered color with a cellulose lacquer for exactly the right consistency, as normal automotive paint is too thin for brush work. Just like every hand-lined Triumph, the artist adds the finishing detail to each Gold Line Edition by signing their work with their initials, providing a personal touch that makes every hand-painted Triumph special.

Bonneville T100 Gold Line Edition

The Bonneville T100 is the perfect entry-point to Triumph’s acclaimed Modern Classics range, with confidence-inspiring handling, a punchy 900cc twin engine, and a high level of specification including cartridge forks, Brembo front brake with ABS, torque assist clutch and switchable traction control, and of course all of the Bonneville’s signature style.

Special-Edition-T100-Gold-Line-4.jpg

The Bonneville T100 Gold Line Edition features all of the latest generation updates including the additional 10PS peak power, for a total of 64HP at 7,400rpm and punchy peak torque of 59 LB-FT at 3,750rpm.

The Bonneville T100 Gold Line Edition features a beautiful Silver Ice fuel tank, front and rear mudguards, and side panels, combined with a classic Competition Green fuel tank infill, edged with hand-painted gold lining and subtle ‘gold line’ logo. The Competition Green is also present on the side panel stripe graphics with unique new white and gold Bonneville T100 logos and hand-painted gold lining.

Completing the look, the accessory fly screen is now available in a matching Silver Ice.

Street Scrambler Gold Line Edition

Triumph’s stylish and accessible urban Street Scrambler is powered by the latest generation Euro 5 compliant High Torque 900cc twin engine, with a unique Scrambler tune. It delivers strong power and torque exactly where you need it, with 64HP peak power at 7,250rpm and 59 LB-FT peak torque at 3,250rpm. It’s comfortable, fun and really intuitive to ride, with high-specification cartridge forks and preload-adjustable twin rear shocks, wire spoked wheels with Metzeler Tourance tires, and a Brembo front brake with switchable ABS

Special-Edition-Street-Scrambler-Gold-Line-3.jpg

The Gold Line Edition adds to the Street Scrambler’s premium custom style and detailing, with a special Matt Pacific Blue scheme that perfectly suits the bike’s urban attitude and rugged style. The rich blue of the tank beautifully contrasts with the Graphite tank stripe and brushed foil knee pad graphics, both of which have accompanying hand-painted gold lining. The Triumph tank logo echoes that same gold.

The mudguards are finished in a premium Matt Jet Black, as is the side panel, which features a new gold Street Scrambler logo. An accessory fit matching Matt Pacific Blue flyscreen and high-level mudguard will further add to the authentic Scrambler style.

Bonneville Speedmaster Gold Line Edition

Already a custom classic icon, the new Bonneville Speedmaster Gold Line Edition adds another level of sophistication and style. The beautiful Silver Ice fuel tank with Sapphire Black twin stripe design and brushed foil knee pad graphics is enriched by the hand-painted gold lining that edges every design element and is signed off with the elegant ‘gold line’ logo.

Special-Edition-Speedmaster-Gold-Line-2.jpg

The Sapphire Black is carried across the side panels, which feature a unique new gold and silver Bonneville Speedmaster logo and more hand-painted gold lining. The headlamp bowl and mudguards are finished in Sapphire Black too, with the option of a matching accessory fit short front mudguard.

As with the rest of the Gold Line Editions, the Speedmaster Gold Line Edition is the very latest specification and delivers all of the comfortable, controlled and refined ride that customers expect from the Speedmaster thanks to its 47mm Showa cartridge forks, pre-load adjustable hidden monoshock RSU and twin Brembo front calipers. The low 27.5 inch seat height, swept back beach bars and forward foot controls deliver a laid back, comfortable cruiser style.

The new Speedmaster Gold Line Edition is powered by the 1200cc High Torque Bonneville twin engine, delivering 77HP peak power at 6,100rpm and 78 LB-FT peak torque at 4,000rpm.

Bonneville Bobber Gold Line Edition

The new Bonneville Bobber Gold Line Edition’s main design theme is Carnival Red, which is carried across the fuel tank and mudguards. The tank is enriched by a twin stripe design, with brushed foil knee pad graphics. These elements are edged with hand-painted gold lines, complementing the gold Triumph tank badges and the ‘gold line’ signature logo.

The side panels are finished in Sapphire Black, with a unique new gold and silver Bonneville Bobber logo and additional hand-painted gold lining.

The new Bonneville Bobber Gold Line Edition offers all of the latest generation’s updates which, together with the custom-inspired looks, delivers an excellent level of standard equipment, including twin Brembo front brakes with ABS, high-specification Showa suspension and a fat front wheel. The new Bobber Gold Line Edition is equipped with a High Torque 1200cc twin engine with dedicated Bobber tune, which delivers 77HP peak power at 6,100rpm and 78 LB-FT peak torque at 4,000rpm.

An accessory fit matching Carnival Red short front mudguard is also available.

Bonneville T120 and T120 Black Gold Line Editions

Being the very latest specification Bonnevilles, the T120 and T120 Black Gold Line Editions feature all of the Bonneville’s torque-rich 1200cc twin performance, with 79HP peak power at 6,550rpm and 77 LB-FT peak torque at 3,500rpm. Their sophisticated chassis set-up with 41mm cartridge forks, preload-adjustable twin RSUs and twin Brembo front calipers with ABS delivers a dynamic, agile and neutral ride.

Special-Edition-T120-Black-Gold-Line-2.jpg

The Bonneville T120 Gold Line Edition comes in a wonderful Competition Green and Silver Ice color scheme. The classic Competition Green infill on the tank is edged with a hand-painted gold line and the subtle ‘gold line’ logo, while the side panels carry a stripe graphic, with a unique white and gold Bonneville T120 logo and hand-painted gold lining.

Special-Edition-T120-Gold-Line-3.jpg

The mudguards are finished in Silver Ice and there’s an accessory fit matching Silver Ice flyscreen available too.

The Bonneville T120 Black Gold Line Edition, instead, has a darker edge thanks to the sophisticated Matt Sapphire Black paint scheme running across the tank, front and rear mudguards, headlamp bowl and side panels.

The tank infill is Matt Silver Ice, hand-edged with gold line detailing, as are the side panel stripe graphics, which feature a unique new black and gold logo design. The scheme perfectly complements the blacked-out engine, black exhaust system and the wealth of blacked-out details that give the Bonneville T120 Black its characteristic mean and moody attitude.

Both versions of the T120 feature all of the latest generation updates, such as the lightweight aluminum wheels, cruise control and enhanced riding modes, making the T120 and T120 Black Gold Line Editions even more premium and desirable.

Scrambler 1200 XC and XE Gold Line Editions

The Scrambler 1200 also gets its own Gold Line Editions – the versatile XC with its plush suspension and unrivalled, all-road, all-day performance and comfort, and the stunning XE – the world’s first genuine dual purpose modern classic adventurer, with a category-leading level of performance and specification.

Special-Edition-Scrambler-1200-XC-Gold-Line-2.jpg

Both models are powered by a High Power 1200cc Bonneville twin engine and both benefit from state-of-the-art rider-focused technology and an exceptional level finish and detailing.

The Scrambler 1200 XC Gold Line Edition comes in a stylish combination of Carnival Red and Storm Grey, with a hand-painted gold line running alongside an Aluminum Silver tank stripe and the subtle signature ‘gold line’ logo. The brushed foil knee pad graphics are also edged with a hand-painted gold line.  The side panel and headlamp bowl are both finished in the classic Jet Black.

The scheme for the Scrambler 1200 XE Gold Line Edition consists of a striking Baja Orange and Silver Ice tank, with a Pure White stripe and hand painted gold line.  As with the XC model, the brushed foil knee pad graphics are gold-lined, and the side panel and headlamp bowl are Jet Black.

Carey Hart Becomes Mips Ambassador

Mips a world-leading helmet-based safety technology company, is pleased to announce its partnership with motorcycle industry icon Carey Hart.

Together this newfound partnership will aim to raise awareness around head protection and encourage the utilization of added safety in helmets.

STOCKHOLM (October 26, 2021) Mips, a world-leading helmet-based safety technology company, is pleased to announce its partnership with motorcycle industry icon Carey Hart. The freestyle motocross pioneer, former championship-winning race team owner, and prominent industry businessman will serve as a safety ambassador for the Swedish company through his longstanding ties with Mips partners Fox Racing and Bell Helmets.

Hart’s impact on the motorcycle industry spans decades. He is perhaps most known for being the first person to complete a backflip aboard a dirt bike 21 years ago, which helped push the sport of freestyle motocross into the mainstream. Upon his retirement from competition, Hart transitioned into race team ownership, where he, partner Ricky Carmichael, and rider Ken Roczen captured the 2016 AMA Pro Motocross Championship under the RCH Racing banner. Hart’s influence crossed over from off-road and into the hugely popular cruiser segment when he became an ambassador for Indian Motorcycles and introduced his popular philanthropic organization, The Good Ride.

Perhaps most importantly, Hart is a loving husband and devoted father to two children. Family serves as the cornerstone of all Hart’s endeavors and also serves as the foundation of his ambassadorship with Mips, where together this newfound partnership will aim to raise awareness around head protection and encourage the utilization of added safety in helmets.

“’Protect yourself, protect your family’ is a guiding principle that motivated me to get more involved with head protection and helmet safety,” said Hart. “As a freestyle competitor, racer, and lifelong rider, I know first hand that your choice of helmet can be a life-changing decision. Mips has invested more than two decades of research into its technology and continues to make improvements to its patented safety system. The peace of mind and increased level of trust I feel whenever I strap on a Fox or Bell helmet equipped with Mips’ technology is something I hope all riders take advantage of, and I’ve made the commitment to put my wife and kids in helmets that only feature the yellow dot. If it’s good enough for me then I know it’s what’s best for them.”

With a talent-rich collection of ambassadors from a diverse range of backgrounds and sporting disciplines, Mips continues to grow as a global force of helmet safety advocacy. Its core mission is to use the voice and influence of the most prominent and successful athletes from around the world to raise head protection awareness and lead the world towards the utilization of safer helmets. Each athlete is invested in using their own experiences to encourage all people, regardless of age, skill level, or preferred sport, to make the right decision when purchasing helmets.

Yamaha Funds Six All Kids Bike Programs

Yamaha Funds Six All Kids Bike Programs in Georgia and California

National Movement Supports Future of Outdoor Recreation and Health Habits for Youth

yoai_akb-45.jpg

MARIETTA, Ga. – October 13, 2021 – Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, announces $30,000 in funding to All Kids Bike, covering the cost for six programs teaching kids in Georgia and California public schools’ kindergarten Physical Education (PE) classes how to ride bikes. With the grant provided through the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative (OAI), Yamaha joins the national movement helping kids transition from digital screens to going outside and learning important life skills, along with building confidence and coordination that feeds into lifelong enthusiasm for outdoor recreation.

“With kids in the U.S. spending an average of seven hours a day on a digital screen, it’s never been more important for companies like Yamaha to invest in the future of outdoor recreation by getting our youth off of the devices, and participating in healthy and fun activities to increase their confidence, instill valuable life lessons, and simply enjoy all the outdoors has to offer,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s Motorsports Marketing Manager.

yoai_akb-39.jpg

“Research shows approximately seventy-five percent of kids won’t even ride a bicycle one time this year,” said Ryan McFarland, All Kids Bike founder, who helped Yamaha employees deliver bikes to Morris Elementary in Cypress last month. “We believe it’s critical for the future of our kids and our communities to change that stat, so All Kids Bike is on a mission to teach every kid in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class. We share a common goal with the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative of getting people outside and enjoying nature. This is a big win for our program, but mostly for the kids at these schools.”

Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, (YMUS) employees from the Marietta, Georgia, and Cypress, California corporate offices, and Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America (YMMC) personnel, in Newnan, Georgia, recently volunteered their time to build and deliver bikes and helmets to local schools. Full All Kids Bike programs, including 24 balance bikes, pedal conversion kits, helmets, and a teacher’s bike, were delivered to Elm Street Elementary in Newnan, Georgia, A.L. Burruss Elementary School in Marietta, Georgia, and Juliet Morris Elementary School in Cypress, California. Three more schools in Newnan, Marietta, and Cypress are also guaranteed funding through the Yamaha grant and will receive the same program support this year.

“Being able to financially support these efforts is always great, but giving Yamaha employees the opportunity to contribute their time to help build and deliver the bikes to schools in the communities where they work is much more meaningful and valuable,” Nessl said. “It’s rewarding to know we’re playing a role in getting more kids outside.”

The All Kids Bike program, developed to be a plug-and-play program for public schools that aligns with SHAPE America National Physical Education Standards, also includes an eight-lesson Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Curriculum, teacher training and certification, and a five-year support plan.

“Yamaha has longstanding, essential ties to the Newnan community. It’s where we live, where we work, and where we play, and we’re excited to help bring this program to the kids at our local elementary schools,” said Bob Brown, Vice President, Finance and Operations Support at YMMC. “These are the first schools in Georgia to receive the All Kids Bike program, and we expect to see a positive ripple effect when more communities start to learn about it and see the outcome of its many wonderful aspects.”

The All Kids Bike program is now in 350 schools in 45 states, with another 50 schools currently in training that will have the program by the end of the year.

“My dad was a Yamaha dealer when I was a kid, so I grew up on Yamaha. The very first Strider Bike I built for my son 15 years ago, I painted it blue and put some Yamaha stickers on it,” said McFarland, who is also the founder and CEO of Strider Sports International, Inc., maker of the Strider Bikes utilized in the All Kids Bike program. “Now that we’ve teamed up with Yamaha’s offices and employees to bring this important program to kids in their communities, we know it will continue to grow from here and we’re already seeing interest from their neighboring schools.”

As the powersports industry’s leading outdoor access program, the Yamaha OAI remains an essential resource to grassroots efforts initiated by riding clubs, land stewardship organizations, educational programs, and public land managers across the country. For more than 12 years, Yamaha has been issuing quarterly grants to non-profit organizations supporting the needs of riding groups, outdoor enthusiasts, land stewardship organizations, and land managers to improve recreational facilities, expand outdoor access, and educate the public on outdoor recreation. Yamaha has contributed more than $4.5 million in aid to nearly 400 projects across the nation over the life of the program.

“Funding for our local schools is integral, and so is helping spread awareness for these national programs that support and activate local efforts where our employees and customers live,” Nessl said. “Yamaha’s Outdoor Access Initiative grant will serve kids at these six schools for years, and we hope the awareness this grant will bring to the broader outdoor recreation community will continue to generate funding for more schools.”

Motodemption

High Fives Foundation

Featuring Mike Garrison

The High Fives Foundation is on a mission to change the lives of adaptive athletes.

While the nonprofit started their philanthropic movement on the ski hill, they now also welcome those who have suffered from a life-changing spinal cord injury sustained after a motocross accident.

Each year, the Foundation holds a two-day camp called Motodemption where their athletes, professional guests like Doug Henry, and one annual grant winner come together to ride adaptive dirt bikes and specially-modified buggies around Leadville Motocross Park in Leadville, Colorado.

The adaptive dirt bikes are built by Aaron Hill, welding and metal fabricator by trade, and Davey Gonzales, organizer of contacts and funding. Gonzales was first inspired by the idea of Motodemption after helping former motocross racer Aaron Hill back onto a motorcycle. Hill was riding moto and broke his back, leaving him paralyzed, and the two wanted to inspire other adaptive athletes.

Each adaptive bike is fit to the specifications of the rider. Depending on the driver’s injuries, the bike must be built and welded to include safety modifications and unique hand controls for the shifter and clutch.

This year, motocross racer Mike Garrison was the winner of the Motodemption grant. Garrison broke his T5 and T6 vertebrae while racing motocross when he was 18 years old, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Garrison was invited to Motodemption on August 27, 2021 to ride a specially-modified Husqvarna 350, which was gifted to him at the end of the day.

Motodemption-Mike-v1.00_06_00_08.Still040-scaled.jpg

The next Motodemption camp will be Aug. 25-26, 2022 with the grant cycle open in June and July, 2022.
