Dunlop Domination at 40th Annual Loretta Lynn's

Dunlop Domination at 40th Annual Loretta Lynn's

Dunlop riders at this year’s 40th running of the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s won 32 out of a possible 36 titles.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA: Dunlop riders at this year’s 40th running of the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s won 32 out of a possible 36 titles. That continues to give Dunlop a win record at Loretta’s nobody can touch: In the past eight years, Dunlop riders have won an incredible 94% of the possible championships at Loretta’s—including winning every title two years in a row.

This year, the weather was seasonably cool, but that didn’t match up to the heat that was generated on the track! Unlike years past where a handful of riders swept all six of their motos, not one rider was able to be consistent enough to do so this year. This made the racing that much more exciting and created battles in the mid pack on the last motos to determine the class champions.

Team Dunlop Elite riders took home four championships and Team Dunlop Elite alumni took home two, bringing the Team D championship total to six titles this year. Among the Team Dunlop Elite riders, Drew Adams stood out taking home two titles, with Haiden Deegan and Kyleigh Stallings each grabbing titles for the team. In addition, Team Dunlop Elite alumni riders Caden Braswell and Nicholas Romano each added two more titles to the Team D overall count.

Dunlop riders won all four of the specialty awards which are presented to riders with outstanding performances during the six-day event. Team Dunlop riders Drew Adams received the AMA Motocross Youth Rider of The Year Award, and Nick Romano was awarded the AMA Motocross Amateur Rider of The Year Award. Dunlop-mounted, Broc Peterson won the Vet Rider of the Year while Levi Kitchen earned the coveted AMA Nicky Hayden Horizon Award in his last amateur race before turning pro, winning both Open and 250 Pro Sport classes.

“The 40th annual Loretta Lynn’s was one for the record books! It was a fantastic week with amazing weather and awesome racing,” said Rob Fox, Dunlop Amateur Motocross Support Manager. “The track became rough with a hard base but the versatility of the MX33 made it the tire of choice, and we want to thank all the riders for choosing Dunlop.”

Ryan Dungey Foundation Fundraising Event

The Ryan Dungey Foundation Announces
Opportunity Awaits, Its First Fundraising Event

Registration for September 18 at Fox Raceway Now Open

CHANHASSEN, Minn. (August 6, 2021) Following its recent introduction, the Ryan Dungey Foundation, the new nonprofit organization established by the nine-time AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross Champion, announces plans for its first fundraising event. Opportunity Awaits, a ride day for everyone, will take place on Saturday, September 18, from Southern California’s Fox Raceway. Registration to get involved in this special event is now open.

“The motocross community, and two wheels in general, provided me with the life I enjoy today. Without the support of those who believed in my abilities I could have never achieved the success I had in my career,” explained Dungey. “It’s important for me to invest back into the industry that gave me so much, with the hope that we can get more kids on two wheels. Opportunity Awaits will provide an avenue to do just that, as we encourage any and everyone, especially kids who have never swung a leg over a bike, to come out and experience the joy of riding in a safe, controlled environment.”

Opportunity Awaits will be hosted with the support and partnership of several of the two-wheel industry’s most recognizable and influential brands — Fox RacingKTM North America, Inc.STACYC Stability Cycle, and Strider Bikes. For the newcomers and the youngest guests in attendance, both STACYC and Strider will provide access to their introductory balance bikes on tracks specifically designed for these innovative and groundbreaking products that have helped make the world of two wheels more accessible than ever before. Additionally, KTM will include a collection of its entry level motorcycle models geared towards the youth rider on a track fitting for their performance. Experienced riders and adults with their own motorcycles will have access to Fox Raceway’s main motocross track.

All attendees, regardless of ability, will have the chance to engage with Ryan, ride on the track alongside the famed No. 5, and take advantage of the presence from each event supporter, including the purchase of exclusive Ryan Dungey Foundation apparel from Fox Racing.

“Opportunity Awaits is the culmination of a shared passion amongst each and every one of us in the motocross and greater two-wheeled community,” added Dungey. “It serves as a unique way to celebrate the way riding makes us feel, while also providing an environment that allows us to share that passion with those who have yet to discover it. Hopefully it can help foster a new generation of riders and ensure our industry can continue to grow for years to come.”

Interested participants and contributors
to Opportunity Awaits can register online.

Founded in July 2021, the Ryan Dungey Foundation is the culmination of Ryan’s years of dedication to charitable work and serves as the natural evolution of his commitment to philanthropy. inaugural Sturgis Rally Wrap Party

Join the inaugural Sturgis Rally Wrap Party

Saying goodbye is always tough - might as well make it a party!

Buffalo Chip, SD: Unbelievably in 81 years there has never been an official Sturgis Rally Wrap Party. In 2021 that changes as Why We Ride, MOTOvational.org and the Legendary Sturgis Buffalo Chip host the VIP Sturgis Rally Wrap Party benefitting Treasured Lives. The limited seat event is a way to say, “until we meet again” and is aimed at motorcycle industry VIPs, brand leaders and all those who cannot imagine life without two wheels. The event is slated for Friday, August 13th at 6:00 pm. Registration is available at SturgisRallyWrapParty.com.

The Sturgis Wrap Party hits the Buffalo Chip with a Luau theme aimed to create a relaxing environment before the inevitable tear-down, pack-up and roll-out routine of the last weekend of the rally. The event will feature a cocktail hour that kickstarts the program in the Buffalo Chip Event Center where you will be surrounded by custom motorcycles as you enjoy a sit-down tropical island feast with delectable entrees and hand-selected side dishes. The night continues with a raffle, live auctions and special guest speakers with 100% of the proceeds going to the Treasured Lives charity organization. The event is limited to only 250 guests with each receiving a custom Sturgis Rally Wrap Party luau shirt to commemorate this exciting first event.

“Since we made the ‘Why We Ride’ film, and my first visits to the Sturgis Rally, I have wanted to host a Hollywood style Red Carpet celebration to wrap up the event. Our inaugural event already has some great support, and we are counting on the motorcycle industry to join us in the wrap party and luau.” says Bryan Carroll, producer of the event and founder of MOTOvational.org. “Rod Woodruff and I started planning this on a ride up the California coast in 2019. It would have been impossible without his partnership at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip and our great supporters. Better still, it’s a continuation of the charity work we have already done for childhood cancer research.”

The Sturgis Rally Wrap Party by MOTOvational.org and the Buffalo Chip are joining together to build the first crisis house, Treasured House, in South Dakota for survivors of sex trafficking and CSE. As there are no other temporary shelters dedicated to victims of sex trafficking in the state and surrounding area, victims are forced into Domestic Violence shelters which are not equipped to deal with the complex trauma found in sex trafficking. In fact, DV shelters often have !recruiters” strategically placed to prey on the victims further. Without a safe place to stay, victims are at high risk for returning to their traffickers. It is critical for the well- being of victims of sex trafficking and CSE to work with those who have come out of similar experiences. Often, victims have never met another survivor who has exited that life. The shared understanding of each other"s experiences is critical to the healing process.

The objectives for the Treasured House are 1) To provide a place of safety and hope, thus alleviating the need to return to victimization. 2) To assess strategic placement of victims to receive the best possible long-term care. 3) To begin the healing process. 4) To assist in understanding the factors that put some individuals at higher risk than others.

The Sturgis Wrap Party will feature images from the Michael Lichter collection, with a donation of a signed book and prints as part of the auction. Los Angeles based artists are painting custom skateboard decks, with additional items such a two limited-edition “Why We Ride” Strider Balance Bikes, motorcycle helmets and apparel for the charity auction. Also on hand will be author Kelly Paterson of Treasured Lives who will be selling autographed copies of her book !From Trafficked to Treasured”

Your ticket cost and amounts paid for all raffle and auction items will be considered a tax- deductible charitable donation and with your attendance and the support of our sponsors, we expect to continue the great tradition of bikers benefiting local citizens.

For the inaugural Sturgis Wrap party our supporters include Harley-Davidson, KlockWerks, Company 3 (the biggest feature film finishing and color grading house in Hollywood), Formosa Group (one of the biggest sound design and audio mixing houses in Hollywood), Refuse Specialists, Baggernation, eGrafx, 805Bling, DavidCookLA, Strider Sports, Int’l, and Chadwick.

ROYAL ENFIELD BUILD. TRAIN. RACE. ROAD RACE PROGRAM

PREPARED FOR OPENING ROUND

Ladies of BTR are set to take the MotoAmerica stage at Brainerd International Raceway.

Milwaukee, WI (Thursday, July 29, 2021) – Royal Enfield’s groundbreaking BUILD. TRAIN. RACE. (BTR) Road Race program, which has invited seven women from all walks to prepare Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 motorcycles for competition and train under the mentorship of professional road racer Melissa Paris, is preparing to enter the final stage of the program this weekend at Brainerd International Raceway—RACE.

Alyssa Bridges, Becky Goebel, CJ Lukacs, Kayla Thiesler, Michaela Trumbull, Scarlett Grosselanghorst and Trisha Dahl are ready to put their hard work on the racetrack this weekend in Brainerd, Minnesota, where round six of MotoAmerica, the premiere motorcycle road racing series in North America, will host the first of three exhibition races for Royal Enfield’s BTR Road Race program. Through the support of the program's sponsors such as BOXO USA Tools, along with Maxima, S&S, Dunlop, Ohlins, Arai, SBS and Vortex, the Royal Enfield BTR women will take to the track on Sunday, August 1, 2021 in Brainerd, Minnesota.

Watch the race live on the MotoAmerica Facebook page, Sunday, August 1, 2021.

The three-month build phase of the program, also overseen by Melissa Paris, saw seven women competitors design and construct their Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 race bikes, which were revealed to the public on June 12 at the Road America round of the MotoAmerica Championship. The participants then entered into the training phase, where the women got to push their skills on the track at Grattan Race Track in Michigan for two days, and fine tune their Continental GT 650 motorcycles. Now, all that is left to do is race!

“The opportunity that Royal Enfield is giving us here, is the dream. Who else is going to hand you a motorcycle, say ‘turn it into a race bike, and then race it yourself?’” said fashion designer-turned motorcycle racer Scarlett Grosselanghorst.

All seven women of the Royal Enfield BTR Road Race program are eager to put themselves and their machines to the test this weekend at Brainerd International Raceway. Former pro motocross racer CJ Lukacs summed it up best. “I’m looking forward to the go-fast portion of it,” she said with a smile.

“After months of building and training the women are ready to race,” said Breeann Poland, Marketing and Communications Lead – Royal Enfield Americas. “My nerves are through the roof. I am excited for the world to see how incredible each one of these women are and for them to finally be able to race. Melissa Paris, our sponsors and Royal Enfield have supported this program from the beginning."
