The Alpha Motorcycle Jacket 3.0

From mountain peaks to city streets

Introducing the 3rd generation Alpha Jacket from Akin Moto - our toughest, most feature packed jacket ever.

We’ve spent years researching and improving every single feature on the Alpha Jacket - from new abrasion resistant fabrics, waterproofing, removable thermal insulation all the way down to small details like wrist gaiters and waterproof zips. Put simply, the new Alpha 3.0 is the finest motorcycle jacket we’ve ever created.

The combination of a fully seam sealed Poly Maxtex® 600 D outer shell and Humax® membrane achieves a very high level of abrasion resistance, while also maintaining a huge 10k waterproof rating and 10k breathability rating… but what does all this fancy talk mean? It means you're extremely well protected against abrasion + harsh weather conditions, all while remaining perfectly comfortable.

For added protection, we’ve designed the jacket to be 100% compatible with body armour inserts for the back, shoulders and elbows (sold separately). NEED ARMOUR? CLICK HERE.

The Alpha Jacket has always been a very comfortable jacket… but we knew we could do better. We’ve added a removable Thermoline® thermal liner and stretch wrist gaiters for those cold morning rides. Riding in warmer weather? Zip-out that lining and open the large armpit vents to allow air to circulate through the jacket, keeping you cool.

With a total of 5 large pockets, you’ll have plenty of room to stash all your valuables on your next ride. All external pockets also feature Premium YKK® Aquaguard® waterproof zippers for protection against the elements.

It does’t matter if you’re riding around town, or riding around the world, the new Alpha 3.0 Motorcycle Jacket is ready for anything.

Introducing the Ryan Dungey Foundation

Introducing the Ryan Dungey Foundation,
Dedicated to Creating Opportunities for Children

Multi-Time Supercross & Motocross Champion Establishes Organization to Benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and All Kids Bike

CHANHASSEN, Minn. (July 22, 2021)Ryan Dungey, one of the most decorated competitors in the history of off-road motorcycle racing, has taken a milestone step in his philanthropy with the introduction of the Ryan Dungey Foundation, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® and All Kids Bike. The establishment of a non-profit organization in his own name is a natural evolution of the Minnesota native’s continued commitment to charitable endeavors and represents a growth in his aspirations to develop more impactful opportunities that can do more for the communities that mean so much to him.

dungey-2.png

For more than a decade Dungey has used his position as a world-class athlete to better the lives of others, serving as an ambassador for major non-profit cancer research organizations like Livestrong and St. Jude. The latter’s partnership with Dungey dates back to 2012, with the creation of an annual charity bike ride and run in his home state that raised more than $1.2 million toward the ongoing fight against childhood cancer.
“The opportunity to pay it forward has been a personal passion of mine since before I even turned professional,” explained Dungey. “I lost my grandmother to cancer in 2005, just as my racing career began to take shape, and her memory has been a driving force for my success on the racetrack and my commitment to philanthropy off of it. From the moment I signed my first contract I had an end goal to establish my own foundation, and I’m so proud that day has finally arrived. I’m grateful to have such an incredible relationship with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We’ve accomplished a lot, but I want to do more, and with the Ryan Dungey Foundation we can do just that.”

Through his foundation, Dungey will continue his long-standing support of St. Jude by making the globally renowned hospital one of the beneficiaries. The next chapter of this partnership will provide more opportunities to raise awareness for continued cancer research and fundraise for the organization, with the foundation serving as a conduit for race fans and entities within the motocross industry to offer contributions.

dungey1.jpg

Dungey’s success throughout his racing career is a direct result of the tremendous support he received within the motocross industry. From the teams he competed for and the manufacturers he represented, to his personal endorsement partners, loyal fanbase, and memorable friendships collected along the way, the two-wheel community embraced a virtual unknown from the outskirts of Minneapolis for who he was - humble with a strong work ethic. He rewarded them all with a hall of fame caliber career that saw Dungey capture a total of nine championships in the supercross and motocross disciplines, as well as victories representing Team USA at the Motocross of Nations. With that support, he also became the proverbial face of the sport with a pair of ESPN ESPY Awards and his own Wheaties box.

“I always wanted to be a leader within the motocross community, but that never would have been possible had I not been given a chance to show what I’m capable of,” added Dungey. “I’m blessed to have enjoyed such a wonderful career and racing certainly gave me the life I have today, but now it’s my turn to give back through the Ryan Dungey Foundation. Two wheels provided the gateway to pursue my dreams and I want to share the joy it brought me with as many kids as possible, because I know it can change someone’s life.”

With the inclusion of All Kids Bike as the foundation’s other beneficiary, Dungey hopes to cultivate the next generation’s ability to discover their own passions through the sense of freedom and endless possibilities that comes from riding, while also fostering a healthy and active lifestyle. Being on two wheels effectively changed Dungey’s life and through its initiative to place Learn-to-Ride programs into public schools across the country at no cost, All Kids Bike personifies the concept of developing childhood mobility, both physically and mentally.

To kickstart its charitable initiatives, the Ryan Dungey Foundation will coordinate an exclusive ride day alongside the former racer at Southern California’s Fox Raceway this fall. The event will be organized in conjunction with a collection of founding partners equally committed to Dungey’s passion to give back to those in need - Fox Racing, KTM North America, Inc., Kutzler Express, Inc., Next Level Sports, and Strider Sports International, Inc.

“Our partnership with the Ryan Dungey Foundation aligns incredibly well with our commitment to growing the sport of Motorcycling,” said John Hinz, Chief Executive Officer of KTM Group North America, Inc. “Our initiatives through co-branded STACYC’s, KTM’s electric mini’s and mini cycle range, KTM Jr. Supercross, and our engagement in amateur racing are just a few of the ways we are actively fostering the future of the sport. We love to see the youth segment thriving and enjoying outdoor activities such as motorcycling and bicycling, and we are excited to see the foundation create space for new and existing riders to take their first steps while also giving back to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and All Kids Bike in support of the amazing things they’re doing for children in need.”

Additional details surrounding the Ryan Dungey Foundation Ride Day will be announced in the near future, including ways in which the public can get involved.

“We are very excited to join forces with the Ryan Dungey Foundation as a founding partner,” said Austin Hoover, Global Director, Sports Marketing & Athlete Development, Fox Racing. “Having worked with Ryan as an athlete beginning in 2009 and experiencing so much success together on the racetrack, we are really looking forward to continuing our relationship beyond his racing career through the support of such an amazing foundation.”

which everyone at Triumph is incredibly excited to be part of. We are 100% committed
to making a long-lasting impact in this highly competitive and demanding world, with a single-minded ambition to deliver a winning motorcycle line-up for a whole new

Ricky Carmichael:

I am thrilled to announce that I am joining the Triumph family and even more excited to be a part of their new endeavor into the off-road product category.

210720_RC_HERO_6x4.jpg

This is an incredible opportunity for me to join this historic brand, and I am honored and humbled to be a part of the development and release of their off-road motorcycles. Building something from the ground up is something that really is intriguing to me at this stage of my career. What is impressive to me is Triumph's dedication, and passion to develop a top of the class product. Everyone that I have been involved with this project, from the engineers, design groups, R&D dept., etc., have shown extreme passion for what they are doing and that is a recipe for success and something that I love being a part of.
We all share that same passion, and that's to be the best.

If you are familiar with the Triumph brand, you already know the quality of craftsmanship is top shelf, and the off-road models will follow suit to their past!

Not only are these exciting times for me, but it's an exciting time for the off-road industry to be adding another brand to the mix and the opportunities that lie ahead for all off-road consumers.  I can’t wait to see the reactions when these models hit the dealer's showroom floors.

Ivan Cervantes:
I have loved Triumph motorcycles right from being a small kid, seeing them in films and on television. So, to be working with Triumph from the beginning of this project is an amazing opportunity for me, not just because it is working with one of the world’s greatest motorcycle brands but also for being part of building something from zero.  It is a dream come true for any racer!

210720_IC_HERO_6x4.jpg

Like me, everyone I am working with at Triumph is focused to make the bikes the best they can be.  I cannot wait to see the bikes competing at a world level, but I also look forward to when I can stand in a Triumph dealer and know I was part of this very special project.

Bio:
Ricky Carmichael – The G.O.A.T.

To many, this motorcycle hall of fame inductee will need no introduction. Ricky Carmichael is the greatest motocross racer of all time, aka “The G.O.A.T”.  As an amateur RC won 67 National Championships, before turning pro at age 17.  In his pro career, he won a record 15 motocross championships, with two perfect seasons, and a further five supercross championships.  Over both motocross and supercross RC won an unsurpassed 150 races.  Ever popular in the paddock and with fans, RC was voted AMA Rider of the year five times during his career.

Since retirement from professional level motocross racing as an athlete, RC has still stayed heavily involved in the sport he loves, from owning a championship winning team, designing tracks for the Daytona Supercross, running Ricky Carmichael University, commentating on the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, and working with Triumph as part of the most exciting development in his sport in decades.

Bio:
Iván Cervantes – El Torito

Five time World Champion Iván Cervantes’ racing career began in motocross, where the Spaniard won five national titles, before moving to enduro in 2002.  At 23 years old, Iván made history by becoming the first Spanish champion in the EnduroGP E1 category.  He followed this with a further three world championship titles in EnduroGP and an FIM Indoor Enduro World Cup championship title.  In 2008, Iván became Spain’s first and only overall winner, in the 83rd edition of the International Six Day Enduro.  Following his Enduro career Iván turned to the Dakar for his next challenge, where he competed three times and finished what is arguably the toughest motorcycle race in the world, twice.

After his retirement from professional level racing, Iván began his work with the Real Federación Motociclista Española, as the Sport Manager of Enduro in Spain.  In this role Iván is the Manager of the Spanish Junior Enduro Team, and the track inspector for the Spanish National Enduro Championship.  Iván’s focus on giving back to the sport that gave him so much, sees Iván joining Triumph for the once in a lifetime opportunity on working on a ground up new off-road project.

DEAN WILSON CAPTURES ANOTHER TOP-10

DEAN WILSON CAPTURES ANOTHER TOP-10 FINISH AT SPRING CREEK NATIONAL

TOP-10 FINISH FOR ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING’S JALEK SWOLL IN THE 250MX CLASS

It was a solid day all-around for Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Dean Wilson, who raced his way to a second-straight top-10 finish at Saturday’s Spring Creek National in Millville, Minnesota for Round 6 of the 2021 AMA Pro Motocross Championship. His teammate, Jalek Swoll, also secured a top-10 in the 250MX division with combined 12-10 scores on the day.

Wilson qualified a season-best 11th overall earlier in the day, which set him up for a favorable start in Moto 1. He captured a top-10 start in the first moto of the day and he battled around 10th all race long to ultimately secure a top-10 finish in the first moto. In Moto 2, Wilson started in seventh and he once again battled inside the top-10 all race long. He pushed hard in the final laps to come away with 10th in the race and 10th overall for the day.

DEAN WILSON - ROUND 6.jpg

“Today was one of my better days,” Wilson said. “I do wish I was a little healthier to give it a little bit more but 10th was the best I had today. My starts were good but I just need to try and get better and get my health better as well but we’ll take it and just try to keep getting better.”

250MX

Swoll began Moto 1 just outside the top-10 and he struggled to gain momentum early in the race. He eventually got into a groove and battled his way back up to a 12th place finish. In Moto 2, Swoll got off to a 17th place start and he worked his way into a top-10 position in the first five laps. Despite a chaotic race, Swoll was able to maintain a solid pace and keep it on two wheels to ultimately finish 10th in the moto and 10th overall on the day.

JALEK SWOLL - ROUND 6.jpg

“Today was not so good compared to how the rest of the season was going, I’m battling some old injuries right now,” Swoll said. “We’re going to use this week for some fuel and try to come back firing at Washougal.”

Hampshire had a great start to the day, qualifying third overall in the 250MX class. He secured a top-10 start in Moto 1 and quickly charged up to eighth by the third lap, where he battled early in the race. Just after the halfway point, Hampshire picked off a couple more riders to get into sixth and he finished strong just outside the top-five. In Moto 2, he got a sixth-place start and raced just outside the top-five early on. He came together with another rider as their lines met through a corner and as a result, he was forced off-track where his rear wheel got tangled up in the sideline banners. After spending most of the race trying to untangle his bike, Hampshire had no choice but to end his day early, salvaging 13th overall with 6-38 moto finishes.

RJ HAMPSHIRE - ROUND 6.jpg

“Honestly, I felt pretty good on the bike today and I felt like we were in a lot more control,” Hampshire said. “I didn’t get great start first moto but I felt pretty solid. Second moto, I got a little bit better of a start and made some quick passes but I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. We’ll go to work this week and be better at Washougal.”

Stilez Robertson had a good start to the first moto, rounding the opening lap in seventh. He shuffled inside the top-10 early on, settling into a battle for 10th midway through the race. With a hard-fought effort, he ultimately finished 11th in Moto 1. In Moto 2, Robertson got off to a great start where he battled just outside the top-five early on. However, he ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time when he got caught up in a pileup and went down early in the race. He tried to push through but ultimately made the decision to pull off halfway through the race. Despite a tough ending, Robertson was able to salvage 15th overall with 11-35 finishes.

STILEZ ROBERTSON - ROUND 6.jpg

“First moto, I got a pretty good start and honestly just didn’t ride all that well,” Robertson said. “I got a pretty good start in Moto 2 and was running seventh and I ended up getting caught up in the pileup with RJ. I got a little banged up but I went back out and was coming forward, passing for 20th, and tipped over and another rider didn’t see me and just ran straight over me. I got some bumps and bruises but we’ll be alright and we’ll get ready and healthy for Washougal and come out swinging.”
